A year ago, I designed this collection as a celebration of Dolly Parton. Inspired by rhinestones and denim, her lyrics, and her joy.

Today, I'm sharing it again with a much heavier heart. I’m not usually affected by celebrity deaths, but this one floored me.

She was an extraordinary artist, storyteller, and philanthropist. But what always inspired me most about her was the way she led with kindness. She showed us that you could stand firmly for what you believed in without losing compassion for the people around you. That kindness and strength were never mutually exclusive.

The world is a little less sparkly without her in it. 💔

Sad news today — our studio dog Dottie has crossed the rainbow bridge.

So many of you had the chance to meet her over the years as our faithful studio companion. She was the best friend a girl could ask for and was there through every step of building Destination Yarn. From her bed under my basement dye table to her spot in the storefront window, she was a constant presence through it all.

I don't have the words to express how much I will miss her. She was my shadow for 16 years, and a part of every chapter of this business and my life.

She was deeply loved, and I know many of you will miss her too.

Goodbye, sweet Dottie.
