Learning goals

-Students can define what a self-portrait is, and know the difference between self-portrait and portrait

-Students begin to learn how to draw facial features in proportion to their head

-Students can define “pattern” and create patterns in their work

One of the coolest things about teaching the same group of students week after week is getting to see the amazing progress they make from one class to the next.

Something else we love is the fact that we can build on what we learnt the previous week.

We can reinforce new skills through practice, and we can even dive deeper into the same theme from the week before.

Our 'Beautiful Butterfly' craft is a great follow-on from our 'Cool Caterpillar' craft, as it teaches kids about a butterfly's metamorphosis.
