One of the biggest mistakes I see after events like High Point Market? Homeowners try to apply trends before they have a plan.
Trends aren’t the problem. Using them without context is.
At market, everything is: thoughtfully scaled, intentionally layered, and designed as a complete environment
In real homes, what’s often missing is: how the layout supports the design, how selections connect from room to room, how the space will actually function day to day. That’s where things start to feel “off”, even when everything looks beautiful on its own.
These questions are what defines if I completed my job for each of my clients and their projects. This is why I always guide clients to define direction first. Because trends should support a plan. Not replace one.
If you’re gathering ideas for a project this year but aren’t sure how they translate into your home, that’s exactly where I come in.
