✨ Tired of bag linings that bunch up and look like a saggy mess? Welcome to another edition of Tips & Tutorials Thursday, where we banish the bulk and embrace the beautiful! ✨

There is nothing more frustrating than finishing a gorgeous handmade bag, turning it right side out, and realizing the lining is a wrinkly, baggy ocean of loose fabric on the inside. We want crisp, boutique-quality interiors that lay beautifully flat!

The secret to a perfect interior is a quick, straightforward seam adjustment. Check out this excellent, hyper-focused tutorial that breaks down the exact mechanics of how to make your lining nest flawlessly inside your bag exterior.

The Golden Rule: Because fabric has physical thickness, the inside pouch of a bag naturally needs to be a tiny bit smaller than the outside shell. To counteract the sag, start with your regular seam allowance at the very top edge where it connects to the main bag, and then gently taper outward by an extra 1/4 inch as you sew down the sides and across the bottom. This consumes that pesky excess fabric and forces the lining to lay completely flat against your outer shell! 📐✨
