Looking at past photos, I came across this cub hugging a sign post. Humorous itself but she had been scratching her back on the post and when she finished she turned around and hugged the post. - like 'thank you!' It was adorable and funny. This is an early picture of a Yellowstone bear called 'Snow.' She's been around now for years and can often be identified by her light coloring.

I really love to travel to collect new memories and new photos! This has been a tough summer in so many ways, so the glamorous trips have not happened. Sometimes I find the newness I crave in my own backyard. These two shots were taken very recently. The rainbow was magical for many miles as I traveled home from Meeteetse one evening. The sunset photo was from last night on my way home from our farm. One depicts the clear skies for which Wyoming is so well known, and the other smoke filled skies with the resulting hazy landscape. Both are moments I cherish living in this beautiful State.

Here is a flower that I have never seen before. It's called a Blue Passionflower. Evidently it is native to South America and blooms from early summer to early fall - a long flowering period. It was on display in a greenhouse in Ireland, believe it or not. It is toxic to pets if you are thinking about your own greenhouse possibilities.

Photo by Mack H. Frost / The front range of the Rockies, as seen from Bynum, a little wide spot in the road between Choteau and Browning , Montana. I drove up a ranch road off of US-89 to a high hill that offered this unobstructed view of the mountains. US-89 is, in my opinion, the Rocky Mountain Highway. It spans the mountain range from Glacier National Park to the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in Arizona, and runs through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, runs next to Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks and the eastern edge of Grand Canyon National Park. All of them can be accessed by way of US-89, and the country in between them is pretty spectacular, too.
