Since 1975 we have offered for sale a unique blend of historically significant items, traditional antiques and fine art, stylish objects, rare and out-of-print books, printed ephemera, manuscripts, photographs. Most of our inventory is purchased directly out of local homes and is fresh to the market, a result of having built a reputation for honesty and fair purchasing practices. We also provide a

wide range of services from collection consultation to estate sale management and from informal evaluations to formal appraisals. The latter we have provided for numerous individuals and institutions, including: The Albany Institute of History and Art, Sage Colleges, Schenectady Police Department, New York State Archives and Special Collections, The Hyde Collection, Fleet Bank, Union College, and The Canajoharie Library and Art Gallery.

Unfortunately that means we will not be purchasing or appraising anything, but if there’s something you see on our website that you just have to have, give us a call/email and we’ll make it happen! We will resume our normal hours (Tues-Fri 11AM-5PM and Sat 11AM-3PM) in May! Can’t wait to see you then!

Shakespeare is torn to shreds in this marginalia review for Troilus and Cressida found in a 1632 Second Folio edition of Shakespeare’s works. “Reader pray doe not take the paines to read this play: for it is not worth your Reading,” “It makes me sweat when I think of this play it’s a very good opiate,” and finally: “The worst play that ever Shakespeare writ.”
