The Wednesday Sketchbook is open again! This easy layout uses one long strip and one focal panel. It is a lovely way to use a narrow piece of patterned paper. Use what you have and let your version be your own. Find my shop through the Learn More button at the top of my page πŸ’œ

**Cut list:**
β€’ Card base: 8 1/2 Γ— 5 1/2 inches, scored at 4 1/4 inches
β€’ Patterned-paper strip: 1 1/4 Γ— 4 7/8 inches
β€’ Focal panel: 2 1/2 Γ— 3 inches
β€’ Greeting strip: about 2 Γ— 1/2 inches

2. Overlap it with the focal panel and add a stamped image or die cut.
3. Place the greeting below the focal panel.
4. Add a small finishing touch.

Saturday Live is here! On Tuesday we sanded two-tone cardstock for that soft, vintage fall look β€” today we turn those same sanded pieces into a finished card, together.
We'll start with the sanded Autumn Fields panel, add the narrow distressed strip as a quiet second layer, place our greeting on top, and finish with a little jute or a few gold dots. Simple layers, nothing busy β€” and if your panel sanded a little lighter or a little heavier than mine, it's still right. Both looks belong here.
Come sit at my craft table. You are welcome here, mistakes and all.
SUPPLIES (order through me):
β€’ Autumn Fields 12" x 12" Two-Tone Cardstock β€” 168332, $12.00
β€’ Sanding Blocks (2 blocks) β€” 168533, $6.00
β€’ Neutrals Jute Combo Pack β€” 168468, $10.00
β€’ Gold Adhesive-Backed Dots β€” 168467, $9.00
β€’ Paper Trimmer β€” 152392, $28.00
β€’ Stampin' Dimensionals β€” 104430, $5.00

β€’ Plus a card base and greeting from your stash

Welcome to The Brand New Wednesday Sketchbook! Every Wednesday I will give you a different sketch to try.

This week's sketch starts with one large layer, one focal panel, and a simple greeting strip. Turn it, flip it, change the shapes, or use whatever is already on your craft table. There is no wrong way to make it yours. Find my shop through the Learn More button at the top of my page πŸ’œ

Sketch 01 β€” Classic layered focal panel. One small typo in the source: card base is 8 1/2 Γ— 5 1/2 in, scored at 4 1/4.
Cut: card base 8 1/2 Γ— 5 1/2 (scored at 4 1/4) β€’ layer 3 3/4 Γ— 5 β€’ focal panel 2 3/4 Γ— 3 β€’ greeting strip about 2 1/4 Γ— 1/2
Build: 1) Fold the base and attach the large layer β€” 2) Stamp or decorate the focal panel, centered near the top β€” 3) Greeting below, finish with a few embellishments.
