Most people think of space planning as something you do AFTER the big decisions have already been made.
I actually think it can be one of the smartest things you do BEFORE them.
Before you get contractor bids.
Before you sign off on architectural plans.
Before you purchase a single piece of furniture.
Because once walls are moved, plans are approved and furniture is ordered, your options—and your ability to make changes easily—get a whole lot smaller.
Space planning gives you the opportunity to step back and ask:
→ Does this layout actually work for the way we live?
→ Is there enough room for the furniture we need?
→ Does the circulation make sense?
→ Are we building something that will function beautifully—not just look beautiful?
→ Are we spending money in the right places?
It’s about creating the roadmap before you start making expensive commitments.
And honestly? The best time to discover that something doesn’t work is on paper—not after construction starts.
If you’re planning a renovation, building project, or furnishing a space and you’re not sure where to start, send me PLAN in a DM.
I’ll help you figure out whether space planning is the right place to begin.
