“Rainbows & Butterflies” is officially installed 🌈☁️🦋

It’s so fun seeing all of these individual paintings come together on the wall. It’s even better than what’s been bouncing around in my noggin for the last 3 weeks.

Once again, yes, you will have a shot at making one of these yours, but they don’t officially release until Thursday, September 10th at 5 pm. If you want ‘em, you gotta come and get ‘em ❣️

Day 18 of painting 30 butterflies 🦋 ✨

In the words of Elle Woods “WE DID IT” 😆🤷🏼‍♀️

Now, to add hanging wire, varnish, signatures, & names to all of these before installing them on the walls before the launch on September 10th. 😬

I’ve had several people reach out about whether or not these are for sale.

I want to be 100% clear: THEY ARE ALL FOR SALE ‼️❣️

But, no presales. 🙅🏼‍♀️

If you have your eye on a particular one, you better come get it at 5 pm on Thursday, September 10th. Mark your calendars and set your alarm, just in case. 📆⏰

This has been such a fun series to put together and there will definitely be more butterflies coming out of my studio.

Day 17 of painting 30 butterflies 🦋

I wanted to do a pink, purple & teal one when I started today. Coral, periwinkle and purple was an afterthought, but I think it’s my favorite of the two.

Only 4 more to go (and they’ll all be rainbow) 🌈

I am so excited to get this entire collection on the wall for the September 10th show. (Yes, they will all be for sale. In person only. Releasing at 5 pm on Thursday, September 10th)

Day 15 of painting 30 butterflies. 🦋

Complementary colors & UNI Panthers 2 for 1 💛💜

I had a request for complementary colors and a request for UNI colors. It was pretty handy for me to be able to knock out two at once 😆🤷🏼‍♀️

With 24 down, I’m in the home stretch, though I have a sneaking suspicion that I’m not stopping at 30 😬

🍂 A little Labor Day reset! 🍂

The Back Yard will be CLOSED September 3rd–7th as we take a few days off to rest, recharge, and reset before our fall calendar kicks into full gear. ☕️🎨🍁

I’ll miss seeing all of you over the long weekend, but I’m looking forward to coming back refreshed and ready for a VERY fun fall at The Back Yard.

Day 13 of painting 30 butterflies.

Shoutout to Patty Trowbridge for suggesting a Dolly color palette as a tribute to the queen of rainbows and butterflies 🦋🌈

Fun fact, I am named after Julia Roberts’ character, Shelby, from Steele Magnolias. Yes, she died. 😆 (in a wild plot twist, my mom had a kidney transplant…not from me though. Imagine the irony if it had been my kidney! 🤷🏼‍♀️)

Anyway, I loved this color palette. I might do another one later on. TBD.
