Whole basswood takes paint in any color, so the shutters can match the room you want.

Frosted glass closet doors do something a solid door can't. With a light on inside, the closet becomes the lamp.
Design idea: black-framed sliding doors with frosted glass against a midnight navy wall. They're built in Colton and hung on ball-bearing hardware so they stay quiet.

Mirrored closet doors earned a bad reputation from thin aluminum frames and rollers that ground on the track. Put the same mirror in a solid wood frame on good hardware and it's a different door.

A sliding glass door is the hardest opening in most California homes to cover. Vertical blinds clatter and curtains get in the way of the door.

The closet doors are usually the last thing in a bedroom the builder chose. Design idea: three sliding doors painted sage, a mirror in the center, frosted glass on either side with the closet lit from within.

An arch is the hardest window in the house to cover well. Blinds leave a bare half-moon. Curtains hide the shape entirely. A shutter built to the curve keeps the architecture and still gives you control of the light.
Design idea: ivory shutters against a sage plaster wall. We build arched panels in our Colton workshop, shaped to your actual opening.
