Surgery update: I received the pathology report we had all been praying for:”

After months of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, countless appointments, tests, prayers, uncertainties, and finally surgery, I received the pathology report that we had been praying for:

There is NO evidence of remaining cancer! My pathology showed a complete response to the treatment, clear margins, and all of my lymph nodes were negative. To God be all the glory!

There were many moments along this journey when I was scared, exhausted, and uncertain. But through every step, God has been faithful. He has carried me, strengthened me, and surrounded me with love in ways I will never forget.

Thank you to every single person, close friends, and strangers who prayed for me. Thank you for the texts, phone calls, cards, meals, flowers, gifts, visits, and every encouraging word. Thank you to those who showed up on my doorstep, invited me to dinner, checked in on me, helped me during my recovery, and simply reminded me that I was never walking this road alone. Every act of kindness, no matter how small it may have seemed, meant more than you know.

To my family, husband, sons, sisters, parents, nieces and nephews thank you for loving me and standing beside me every step of the way. To my husband, Rick, you stepped up when I most needed you- thank you for carrying so much during this season—supporting us, encouraging me emotionally, physically, stepping out of your comfort zone, being there through appointments, for every difficult day, and every victory. I couldn’t have done this without you.

To my incredible medical team, Doctor Traveline, Rebecca Griffiths, Dr Lynn, all my nurses (Jo Jo), the Ann Barshinger cancer institute center as a whole-thank you for your knowledge, compassion, and dedication. You have made a lasting impact on my life, and I will always be grateful.

This journey has taught me to cherish each day, lean on my faith, accept help with humility, be humble, and never underestimate the power of prayer and the love of a community.

While I still have a few decisions ( radiation & immunotherapy)ahead regarding the next phase of treatment, today I am choosing to celebrate this incredible milestone with you and give thanks for answered prayers.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for walking this journey with me. Your prayers were heard, your love was felt, and your support helped carry me through one of the hardest seasons of my life.

God is good—always. ❤️

Update:
Below is a picture of me on my last chemotherapy infusion day about a month ago. Now I’m preparing for the next phase of my journey—surgery (right around the corner), immunotherapy, and radiation.

God has been more than faithful through this season of my life, and I am incredibly thankful for the lessons, love, blessings, and so much more along the way.

Some of the most important things I’ve learned are:

• Don’t sweat the small stuff.
• Live each day the best you can.
• Let go and let God.
• Sit quietly and be still.
• Give your mind a chance to rest. (Turn off the noise in your head)
• Give grace to others and yourself.
• Strive for peace in your life.
• Don’t be so hard on yourself—no one is perfect.

Today, I have one request of my friends and family: prayers and positive thoughts. Please pray that God places His hands over my surgeons and medical team, watches over me and others facing surgery, that no cancer remains, and that recovery is smooth and swift.

Thank you all for your continued love, prayers, encouragement, and support.

So yesterday marked my second-to-last aggressive infusion. Surgery is scheduled for June 30th. I ask for continued prayers—that, God willing, the surgery will show no cancer left… completely gone.

Here I am like I’m in a race, rounding each bend, slowly approaching the finish line. My wonderful team keeps reminding me, “You’re almost there.” This chapter in my life has not been a quick passing moment—it has been long, ongoing, and at times incredibly hard. I so wish it were already over. I don’t want any more harsh drugs in my system. But then I’m reminded that God is with me, and this is all unfolding according to His will.

There were moments when my body was fighting so hard, and the treatments felt harsh, lonely, and overwhelming. Moments where I felt like giving up. But I pulled myself back together and reminded myself of my family, my friends, and my medical team whom are well equipped, —all rooting for me.

I know I will need to rebuild my strength and immunity, but those who truly know me also know: I will get through this. I’ve been a survivor before, and I will come through this stronger.

To everyone who called, texted, reached out, donated, or simply thought of me—you mattered. You made me feel supported. You reminded me that I was still connected to this world, still loved, still seen. My business customers, partners, and friends—you gave me a sense of normalcy and belonging during a time that felt anything but normal.

Through this journey, I’ve learned so much. To truly enjoy each day. To let go of small quarrels and
disagreements—they simply don’t matter. I’ve also learned and continue to learn the true meaning of long-term family, and friendships. The friends and family whom never gave up on me, even when I pushed them away—(Christine, Lisa, Liz, Emily, Melissa, Sherry, Judy, Natalie, Lilian, Sheila, mom &dad, Marco, Matt, Asia, Jeanette, Brenda, and Rick)… you showed up. Week after week with calls, texts, meals, visits, rides, and love. You held on to me when I didn’t have the strength to hold on to myself. Those kinds of friendships are rare and priceless.

My husband has been incredibly supportive and truly selfless. I am so grateful for him—for standing by me, taking care of me, walking with me through some of the hardest days, and reminding me that I deserve the very best care and love.

God has truly shown up. He has given me comfort, peace, strength, grace, rest, and a deep confidence that I will get through this. My son Matthew and his girlfriend have also grown closer to God during this time, and that has been such a blessing to witness. Also we are rebuilding a more meaningful relationship with our son Marco. Through all this God is answering prayers in ways I didn’t even expect.

This is His will for me. I don’t know what He has planned next, but I do know this: He will be by my side every step of the way.
