We made a friend back in May at the Atomic City Paranormal Symposium, and we've been so excited to offer her adorable plushies in our store! ๐ฆ
Meet Cara Spring: crochet crafter, disabled veteran, and owner of SweetlySavage Crochet!
Cara began crocheting just about three years ago, starting out with small plushy kits you can buy online, and then instantly became โhookedโ! Despite being relatively new to the craft of crocheting, Cara took to it, and quickly went from making plushies using the small kits to creating large, intricate, huggable plushies in a matter of weeks! Itโs no surprise really, since crocheting is in her DNA. Caraโs grandmother was an amazing crocheter who made beautiful pieces, from little dresses for Barbie Dolls and the most delicate & beautiful holiday decorative snowflakes, to very fancy throw blankets that still get used daily! So, you could say her grandmother was an influencer very long before influencing became a thing!
There are so many creative avenues in crocheting that her Grandmother explored, but Cara really found her crocheting niche with making plushies.
She really enjoys the process of taking cakes & bundles of yarn and turning them into whatever fascinates her - Pokรฉmon creatures, characters from Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter, horror movie villains, childrenโs stuffed animals, mythical creatures, & even โAdult Spicyโ themed toys. For Cara, there are no limits to what she can create!
But, if she had to pick a favorite that she loves making, it would be making spooky season & macabre plushies! Bats, bubbling cauldrons, glow-in-the-dark ghosts, skulls, etc. For Cara, Spooky Season isnโt only to be enjoyed in October - for her, it is celebrated year-round!
So check out her plushies! They are beautifully crafted and made to last!
You can find & purchase Caraโs creations under Sweetly Savage Crochet on Instagram & Facebook. Donโt worry if you want something that isnโt there - Cara does custom orders as well!
