This quilt was made for Stephanie. Her son unexpectedly & traumatically passed away when he was only a teenager. She kept all his things for several years, not having the will to even touch his things. She asked me to come to their home over a year (maybe 2) ago to go over what was possible with what she had. Even then, she hadn't moved his things from his room. She sent me an email a few weeks ago letting me know she was ready to do something with his things. Here is the final result. There are handmade cards for her, a card for Dad, and a photo also included. All the memories are wrapped up into something that will wrap her up in memories of him. When the grief allows happy memories to work their way in, it's time to do something with those memories to keep them visible.

Here is the quilt that I designed and finished all in a week. This is for .elise14 to take to USC this fall. It is a TwinXL so it will fit her dorm bed perfectly. She says she is decorating her room in blue & white.

This is a quilt that was just delivered late last week. It is made of a dad's t-shirts who passed just last year. When I delivered it, the mom had just moved in with the daughter who ordered the quilt. So they were both there to see it. I just kept hearing, "That's so nice! How did you do that?"

The memories that each t-shirts holds are all in one place now, able to be cherished, held, and displayed.

This is a quilt that was delivered last week to a young lady who just graduated. These are mostly t-shirts from elementary school, up through high school. There are some cross-stitched pieces her mom made her over the years, but never did anything with them. There is also a letter from her dad who passed a few years ago that was included. She was awestruck by the quilt. But when she saw the letter from her dad, she cried so much that she had everyone in the room crying. A reminder that I really am so thankful that God has given me this talent and ability to create something that means so much. ❤️

Hello, Everyone!

I'm back home this week and back to it!

Last week I designed Gail's quilt, but the timing for her just isn't working out. Please pray for her especially this week. Her husband isn't expected to last through the week.

I didn't get a chance to work on the re-design for the special project for Cynthia. I'll make it a priority this week to get that designed, along with finishing Susan's longarm quilting order and working on Elizabeth's quilt.

Next week, I'll be finishing Elizabeth's quilt and starting on Beth's quilt. And, hopefully, I'll be able to start on Cynthia's re-designed project at that time.

Last week with my dad was a lot more than I expected. Since he can't drive, I drove him everywhere he needed to go. If you know my dad, you'd understand just how stressful that was. However, we were able to laugh about it later -- always good medicine.

We have 2 months left to try and get him to be independent again. My sister is a school teacher and will need to be back at school around the first week of August. He has a wound (other than his stump) that needs to heal and he needs to be able to have the hand controls installed on his vehicle for him to be able to drive again. If we can accomplish this, then I think we'll be fine to resume normal life to some degree.

As of now, I'm scheduled to go back to Missouri the week of June 15th and the week of July 6th.

Sincerely & gratefully,
Laura Rogers

Here are 2 quilts that were finished last week. The first is for a Wofford grad (as if you couldn't tell). It was ordered by his fiancé as a surprise for his graduation.

The second is a quilt for a high school grad who was very picky about her color choices. She wanted to be sure everything blended together nicely, so she chose a creamy neutral.

This is a quilt that was made by my sister Dana. It is made up of just the collars & cuffs of men's shirts. This is her Trail Mix quilt. I finished it using a "Button Up" Quilting stitch. She'll finish the binding on her own. It is basically a twin size quilt.
