Not that we will be abandoning the blanks you all know us for, but it’s past time for us to introduce the College Fjord Line of pen blanks. The original version pictured here was inspired by a full day of soaking in the majestic sites of College Fjord and Glacier Bay in Alaska in 2023. Never in my life have I been as awestruck by landscape as I was there.

Each variation of this blank is built upon the same pattern with just a change of one color in two portions of the mix.

I’ll be adding these into the inventory over the next few days as I can. They will be available in kitless rods of 10”, kit pen rods of 6”, and in another format that will remain a mystery until the doors open at SWAT on August 28.

While we might not be doing a demo, Blankwerks will be at SWAT. We’re looking forward to our first SWAT appearance and catching up with our customers. Are you going to be there? Make sure to take a break between the demos and find us.

I know I’ve gone silent again folks. The last couple of months have been busy for me. Between cleaning the shop after the fire, finishing up some garden projects, and taking a couple of road trips, I haven’t had much shop time.

Some of you have found it already. But in case you haven’t, I’ve already started our end of year sale. There are a select few watch part blanks that have a 25% discount on them and all of our in stock abalone blanks are discounted 10% when you buy at least 4 blanks. These two sales run until 22 December at noon. There is no code needed for these sales.

Help me clear out some of our older inventory so I can start restocking in January.

Our first run of blanks for our inventory is finished. These will be the beginning of a series “Black on White”. It’s a mixture of cigar, Junior Series, and Full Size blanks. All on white fiber and all with a black dial. Each one has been turned and polished for display purposes. I expect to have a few more of these added each month this year. They should be on the site tonight, so I can’t guarantee they’ll still be available at the

Fighting back holiday grumbles today. I finished up a large order for a great overseas customer and since I had some tubes left over, I decided to throw together a washi/filigree combo for a mistral. I have a few more of these with gold butterflies. They will most likely hit the website after the holidays as I have decided tomorrow is my last work day for the year. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
