There is a quiet, natural way to bring the changing season indoors that doesn't rely on bright orange. Do you prefer the cream hydrangea, the velvet pumpkins, or the gold-edged ribbon?

Warm, welcoming and unmistakably fall. Comment FALLSHOP and I’ll send you the details.

Well, Miss Boo has received her first review:

“LOVE this adorable little ghost girl 👻💕 I can’t wait to display her on my front door!”

I had so much fun creating this door hanger/wreath attachment, from her flower crown right down to her sparkly bat and tiny orange bow. And apparently she knows how to make a good first impression.

Want your own Miss Boo? Comment GHOST and I’ll send you the details.

It’s definitely football season! I sold a football bow on Tuesday and then received an order for EIGHT blue and white ones.

There is a stage in bow-making when my workroom looks a little like this. But eventually all that ribbon gets fluffed and fussed with until each bow is ready to go.

Those eight are now on their way to Massachusetts and while I have no idea how they’ll be used, someone is definitely ready for the season.

Does this look like fall to you?

One thing I’m loving about autumn decorating right now is the move toward more nuanced colors — dusty rose, mauve, wine and burgundy mixed with muted rust, warm brown and touches of olive.

There’s very little traditional orange in this wreath, but to me, the deeper colors and textures still feel unmistakably like fall.

What about you — do you like these softer fall colors, or are you firmly on Team Orange?

Comment FALLSHOP for details on this wreath and more.

Since I don't show up here nearly as often as my wreaths do, I thought I'd reintroduce myself.

I'm Shar, the person behind Wicked Pretty Wreath, and the person usually surrounded by ribbon, greenery and whatever seasonal project has taken over my workroom.

I started Wicked Pretty Wreaths because I love creating beautiful things for the home (and it gives me a good excuse to buy more ribbon). Today that includes wreaths, swags, centerpieces and other seasonal décor, like this custom centerpiece I just finished.

But I also believe that decorating shouldn't have to become another job on your to-do list.

I create pieces for people who want a warm, welcoming home but don't necessarily have the time (or desire) to make everything themselves.

A few things to think about when choosing front door decor:

1. Your door’s scale.
A wreath can be beautiful and still look lost on a large door, or overwhelm a smaller one. Pay attention to the measurements, not just the pretty picture.

2. The door’s details:
Color, style and even the amount of glass on your door can change how a wreath looks once you get it home. Choose something that works with what you already have.

3. Does the item represent your taste and personality?
Trends can be fun, but your front door should still look like you. If you don't really love the color, theme or style, you probably won't love seeing it every time you come home.

The best front door decor doesn't have to follow every rule or every trend. It just needs to fit your space and make you happy when you see it.
