I like it here. ✨

So far the studio has been a game changer.

Last fall I took the Goldman Sachs small business course (totally free but completely intensive). To complete the course we had to draft up a growth opportunity plan for our small businesses. It took me a few weeks to realize it was time to get Swoon House into a proper building.

At first it felt like an enormous step that might materialize in several years not several months. But the more I stepped away from my feelings and into the data surrounding Swoon House, it became clear that it was time.

So early this year I teamed up with our build partners Rule Of 3 on building out a space that gives us both room to grow.

The studio has been game changing for how our team works and collaborates. It’s elevated our project presentation process with our clients. Plus: she cute 😍.

Meet team Swoon House.

We are better than ever because we can collaborate internally to develop more creative solutions, we can document all decisions rapidly, and immediately tackle the ever-growing list of design ex*****on logistics.

We are a different company. And I can’t wait until we are all back in town (June is a little spotty for us) so that we can really take off as a team.

Working with our clients on their retail space was an exercise in exploring brand identity. No one knew what Woodward needed to be from a physical space perspective. It was tedious when there was a lack of clarity or clear directives, but so rewarding when we finally landed on the right solutions. At some points it felt like throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks, but we kept coming back to the initial idea of using a simple natural material: the plywood walls and cabinets were the right glue to hold everything together. Then we layered in simple linear storage solutions and basic tile accents—nothing too flashy or distracting. We really wanted the brand to take center stage, which is challenging when the client isn’t sure which branding elements will be included in the space. But we kept pushing for information while sharing drawings and visuals that explained how and where brand assets should be used. And we got there. The space is both simple and interesting. The retail experience has an intuitive flow. The space provides the right foundation for supporting a well-loved brand.

Our client was afraid she had gone too far with the farmhouse trend when she last renovated. She wanted some help creating a more collected, authentic vibe for her home. Storied interiors are our jam and we’ve been more than happy to help out. 🫶🏻

It’s been so long since I last shared an actual post, I couldn’t find the button 🤦‍♀️ we will be working on that in 2026–along with a slew of other updates.

This is one of my favorite projects (circa 2023) and it represents a turning point in our service. This was one of the first projects where we combined renovations + furnishing—giving the whole home a beautiful synergy.
