Meet Pace Perry, our newest Designer! A recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program, Pace is starting his career at archall architects with an interest in developing a broader understanding of the design process.

“Joining the Design team is exciting because I can use my creativity right at the earliest stages of a project while also having the opportunity to follow that work beyond preliminary design. Contributing across different phases gives me a better understanding of the entire process and lets me experience architecture more holistically."

Pace has a passion for design that continues outside the office through Minecraft, where he spends time creating games, environments, and art.

For decades, Pilot Dogs has helped people with visual impairments build greater independence through guide dog training. When designing the expansion of its Columbus campus, we focused on creating spaces that support students and their dogs as they learn to navigate life together.

Accessibility was an important part of every decision. We considered how people with varying levels of visual ability move through a space, find their way, and interact with their surroundings. We wanted accessibility to be a natural part of how the spaces work and feel for everyone who used them.

The Student Residence and Puppy Palace each support a distinct part of Pilot Dogs’ mission. The Student Residence gives students a comfortable place to live and train while learning to work with their guide dogs. The Puppy Palace provides dedicated space for care, training, and early development of future guide dogs.

Together, the expanded facilities give Pilot Dogs more space to do what they do best: create successful partnerships between people and dogs that lead to greater confidence and independence in everyday life.
