This spring has been a struggle for me as a business owner and a farmer. Of course the weather has been *wacky, but the farm also looks drastically different from where we were a year ago. We were harvesting buckets and buckets of blooms from a much fuller field, but now, there are hardly and blooms to cut, and the plants we do have are in their earlier stages.

While the tulips kept me BUSY for a couple of weeks, things drastically slowed down after they left. I’ve been seeding and cultivating and fertilizing, but I’ve very much missed the beauty of our spring season crops and bringing them to your tables 😭.

I’m in this pickle for a good reason though. The winter was a time to address our soil health, so we decided to cover crop rather than sew flowers. And while there is a vacancy of color in the garden now, things like this lil baby firefly venturing through the garden remind me why it was so important.

It’s always for them. For Earth. For all of us

The 2026 Tulip season has been an absolute WHIRLWIND. Between the initial bulb loss, warm weather, and crazy short harvest window, I think I’m officially Tulip-ed out for the year. And at the same time, I can’t wait for the 2027 Tulip craziness!

Thank you endlessly to everyone that came out to visit us at markets and during First Thursday this April, and a super special thank you to our OG Tulip Club members!

We’ve got 3,800 bulbs coming our way this fall, so if you missed out on our first ever Tulip Club, keep an eye out for our second year sign-ups this Fall. Pro tip: 2026 Flower Club members get first dibs and Early Bird Pricing on ALL of our 2027 Club membership sign-ups. Just sayin šŸ˜‰

Take it from Lisa’s mom, our Fresh Flower Clubs are pretty great gifts šŸ˜‰. Don’t worry, there are still spaces left in our Summer and Autumn Clubs this year for you, your momma, and your grandma.

P.s. If you write me heartwarming thank-you notes, they WILL end up on my flower fridge, and I WILL stare at them when I need a pick-me-up. You’ve been warned.

Peony season is such a short and sweet time of the year, but boy do they put on a show!

Our peony patch is young now, but in a short few years we will be SWIMMING in peony blooms. We plan on starting the Dilly Dally Peony Club in 2028, but what I’m even more excited about?

Our first ever on-farm Peony Extravaganza! Is it too early to hype this up? Not in my book. Imagine a day full of rows and rows of spring blooms ready to cut yourself, with fresh peonies en-masse in the barn for alllll the pics. Local food trucks, family activities, and a professional photographer ready to capture your wonder.

The next night? Adults only will enjoy a more intimate experience with the Meadows. Locally curated picnic baskets, bubbly, and live music to enjoy with the beauty of Earth.

Give us some time, and we’ll give you something you won’t forget šŸ’›

It’s spring, but there’s somebody out there yearning for fall to roll around again, and I don’t blame them!

If that’s you, don’t forget to sign up for our Autumn club before it’s too late. Cozying up with your favorite book and seasonal drink just becomes so much more magical with a vase full of moody blooms on the table. Trust me, I know šŸ˜‰.

Is Earth day just like every other day, or is every day just Earth day? I know my answer.

The best mother this side of the galaxy. Accepting, caring, never afraid to teach you something new, or tell you when you’re wrong šŸ˜‚. There are boundless things to learn about her, and all you have to do to start is stop.

In truth, her complexity and mystery bring me to tears. To know that so many creatures rely on one another, and yet the only thing each of them must do is live as themselves, and everything else will form around that. Connections upon connections upon connections.

Like: did you know that the rain from a thunderstorm will benefit plants more than normal rainfall? And that without Cattails, the Redwing Blackbird can’t perform its mating display?

The decisions we make about how we interact with Earth are important for ourselves, our fellow species, and all of the young ones out there. So do what you can to ask yourself what you can do for Earth, instead of what Earth can do for you. You don’t have to be perfect, just start somewhere šŸ’›.

(P.s. STOP USING AI, that’s an easy first step ā˜ŗļø)

A year older yet again.

And I could have just been that. But I’m not. I’m a year older, with a business that I love. A year older with a home that loves me. A year older with so many new friends and cheerleaders. And if I could give year-ago me the biggest hug and slice of carrot cake, I would do so crying with gratitude.

Year-ago me was finding footing in a new job, newly diagnosed with a lifelong immune-system disease, nervously starting to sell flowers, and hoping the flood-grade rain levels didn’t swallow my field whole šŸ˜‚

Despite the fear, stress, and the days where my energy just wasn’t showing up, I pushed for what I wanted. I’m so thankful for my commitment to myself this past year. For Cameron’s support and strength when things got a bit wacky, and for the Earth and her flowers. Always.

I’ll be a year older again next year, but I sure as hell won’t JUST be a year older. šŸ˜‰

ā€œYou want some Anise Hyssop for your garden?ā€œ they excitedly asked me as this beautiful plant landed in my palm.

Of course I said yes, I adore the smell of these plants - the scent reminds me of making hard candy during winter as a kiddo. Anise was always my favorite flavor, and the candy stuck to your teeth just right: a simple visitor that stayed for just a short while.

I was at Hilltop Gardens in Bloomington, on a field trip with my Master Gardeners class. I almost didn’t make it, timing just gets tight after work some days, and this gal is tired most days too.

But I also knew I would be regretting it if I didn’t go, even if it was just to catch the tail end of the trip. The drive was long, but I’d forgotten how terribly beautiful the trees can be as the buds begin to emerge. Purples and soft greens and golden yellows reaching from the wood-line just to wave hello as I wound past, softly lit with that precious light of golden hour.

My to-do list sat stagnant, but the drive, the people, and the Earth lightened some of the heaviness I’ve been carrying lately. Imagine that šŸ˜‰ā¤ļø

Anyway, do that thing you’re not sure about, you might get Anise Hyssop along the way ā˜ŗļø

THANK YOU CBUS!

You showed up and helped us spread the joy of tulips yesterday, big time. So many of you stopped by to chat flowers, and shared with me your own personal connection to blooms. For some of you, these tulips were a moment to gift yourself a simple pleasure, remember a loved one, or simply indulge in the joy that spring brings.

I was definitely fending off a raging headache through it all, but it may have been one of my favorite markets yet šŸ’› I even ended the night savoring the comfort of thestdenis and making a couple trunk of the car Tulip deals šŸ˜‚šŸ’›

Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic šŸ˜‚

But seriously, we need your help Cbus! Don’t worry, I’m not asking you to w**d the field, I just need you to spread the word: OUR FRIDGE IS FULL!

This wacky weather has our tulips doing some weird things, like these varieties putting on color 3 weeks early! 🤪

Anyways, help the tulips in our fridge avoid the compost pile, and help us share the beauty of tulips! Spread the word about our pop-up Chapter Two downtown for THIS THURSDAY!!

We know you know someone that would love to discover local beauty, so send them over to our little corneršŸ’› thanks friendsšŸŒ·šŸ’›
