Something NEW is happening at Fox Country Quilts...

Introducing Creative Spaces at Fox Country Quilts!

This is our new video series about finding inspiration, seeing possibilities, and creating something beautiful. And sometimes, inspiration starts in a quilt shop.

Sometimes it starts in a thrift store in Utah.

For our very first episode, I’m sharing some of the treasures we found while thrift-store shopping on our recent trip to Utah.

But here’s the fun part...

I’m NOT telling you what I’m planning to do with them.

You’ll have to watch and then GUESS.

🧵 What caught my eye?
🦊 Why did it come home with me?
✂️ And what in the world am I going to turn it into?

Some of you may figure it out.

And some of you may come up with an idea so good that I change my plans entirely.

🎸✨ DOLLY, RHINESTONES & 9 TO 5 ✨🦋

If you're going to learn something new, you might as well add a little sparkle. Okay... a LOT of sparkle.

Join us September 25 for a very special beginner Kinusaiga class inspired by Dolly, rhinestones, butterflies and country glam!

Choose your project:

🎸 The Guitar
🦋 The Butterfly

We'll start with the beautiful no-sew art of Kinusaiga, using fabric tucked into our designs to create the foundation.

Then?

WE BLING.

Embroidery floss. Pearl cotton. Metallic threads. Pearls. Rhinestones. Pretty little treasures we haven't even thought of yet.

This class was designed for the beginning beginner, so you don't need Kinusaiga experience. We'll teach you everything you need to know.

**THE 15-MINUTE PILLOWCASE: TECHNICIAN EDITION**

Jordan, one of our machine technicians, decided to make a “15-minute pillowcase.”

Cute Tula Pink fabric.
Beautiful satin.

What could possibly go wrong?

Apparently... **the satin.**

Three hours later, Jordan announced:

“I’m making a 15-minute pillowcase. It’s taken me three hours... and I’m not finished yet.”

In his defense, satin has absolutely NO respect for schedules, sewing technicians, or the laws of fabric physics.

It slips.
It slides.
It wiggles.
It goes wherever it darn well pleases.

And Jordan?

Finally got it finished but he says "Never Again!"

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOUR SEWING MACHINE COMES IN FOR SERVICE?

It's a little more involved than that tiny brush in your accessory box.

When your machine comes across our service bench, our technician gets into the areas you can't reach during normal cleaning.

That means removing covers and components as needed, cleaning out accumulated lint, thread and debris, inspecting the machine, checking its operation, making necessary adjustments and making sure everything is working as it should.

And THIS is what a machine looks like after all that fuzz is gone!

Routine service isn't just about fixing a machine that's broken.

It's about keeping a good machine running well.

If your domestic sewing machine hasn't been professionally serviced in more than a year, bring it in and let us give it a little TLC before fall sewing season gets into full swing.

Hooked!

When you’re at Handi Quilter and suddenly run into Nick Turcan’s sardine quilt… you stop. You take a selfie. And, apparently, you point excitedly at the sardines.

We may have found the catch of the day!

Such a fun, whimsical piece, and even better to stumble across it in person. Nick is one of Handi Quilter’s National Educators, so you know there’s some serious quilting talent behind those fish!

Quilters really do find inspiration in the most unexpected places.

LOOK WHAT WE MADE!

Sometimes it's the tiniest little things that make life at the longarm easier.

We use that little bottle of oil ALL. THE. TIME. to oil the bobbin hook on our longarms.

The problem?

Where do you put it so it's always right there when you need it?

Apparently the answer was...

Give it its own cup holder.

So we designed and 3D printed this little Micro Mini Oil Cup Holder that clips right onto the longarm frame.

The oil bottle fits inside, stays upright and, most importantly, is right there at the machine when it's time to oil the hook.

No hunting for the bottle.

No setting it somewhere and forgetting where "somewhere" was.

No little oil bottle wandering off to live with the missing seam rippers.

We've been testing them around the shop and I'm thinking...

Would any of our longarm quilters want one of these, too?

If we made some for sale, would you want one?

👇 Tell me YES in the comments.

And because we're 3D printing them right here, I'm thinking we might need some fun color choices, too.

Apparently Donna is making accessories for our accessories now.
