When it comes to design, Kristin Adams loves a challenge. An interior REdesigner, focuses on upcycling and repurposing existing goods into new treasures. “I want people to be happy in their own space,” says Adams, who studied textile and interior design at Philadelphia University, after 12 years of drafting for a prominent Long Beach Island architect. “People should feel comfortable with where the
y live.” That’s what Pineapple Cottage Designs is all about. Pineapples are a universal symbol of hospitality, friendliness and warmth, all feelings that Adams strives to create for her clients, often by salvaging and enhancing what they already have. Whether she comes in as a designer for the day, helping homeowners to choose colors, group and place furniture, or reorganize their space, or she works on a specialized upcycled project, her work with Pineapple Cottage Designs is all about reimaging and repurposing what’s already there. Plus, she says, when you’re reclaiming older goods, each piece has its own story, and sometimes half the fun is in the people you can meet along the way. It’s about making things come together and achieving a unique harmony, something that is truly Adams’ specialty. Pineapple Cottage Designs strives to create a carefree paradise for every client, utilizing their style and existing possessions, as well as rescued treasures, to achieve luxury for everybody. And hey—every once in a while, you just need a pink flamingo in your life to keep things interesting.
