That moment you can physically see all your hard work paying off! This is the same tank top just 1 year apart! I am really proud of myself because when I started this journey I was right about 160 and now I’m down to 120! I’m not just doing PT for my leg, I’m working out, watching what I eat AND drink and I didn’t notice until I was doing laundry but I wore a tank top I haven’t been able to comfortably wear in like 3 or 4 years ♥️🎉🥳 AND I have a big surprise coming soon and I honestly couldn’t be more excited to share it with y’all!

So I feel like an ass 😰 but I have to say that the thought didn’t even cross my mind yesterday but I do feel that we should tell single mothers doing it all on their own, having to shoulder the load of not just one but both parent rolls, happy Father’s Day as well! These are some of the most overlooked, hardworking, loving and selfless women on the planet and while these women may look like everything they do is flawless, I can promise you there is a safe space that has seen more breakdowns than AAA but she still gets up and continues on. Yes I know she gets celebrated on Mother’s Day but these women deserve praise on both days and need to be reminded that they are loved and appreciated and doing a good job 👏 I do try to do this appreciation post every year because once upon a time I was that mom! I don’t say it enough but I SEE YOU LADIES! If you need help wrangling the littles in the check out line, I got you, if you’re trying to breastfeed and need someone to sit with you to keep you calm and keep the Karen’s and Kevin’s in check I got you! If you become overwhelmed and just need a shoulder to cry on and an ear to vent to with no judgement I got you lil mama! If you feel unsafe walking across a parking lot or anywhere for that matter I will walk with you and hold your littles as tightly as I would my own! There are a lot of people that would do the same but sadly these ladies know they are few and far between so be kind! You don’t know their story

So I have decided to get my Red Cross instructors license! I’ve wanted to do it for awhile now but what really pushed me to do it now was when I found out just how many families wanted to take a class or two and it hit me like a ton of bricks….All of these amazing parents AND their kids actually want to learn these skills to help themselves and their loved ones should the need arise and I knew in that moment why god put me where he did in my past♥️ why he blessed me to be a firefighter, first responder, etc. in my past. It’s a truly sobering realization and I hope and pray I can teach each of my future students as beautifully as mine taught me! Thanks mom and dad ♥️

Almost doesn’t seem real that this was me almost a year ago 😢 every time I see this picture I cry, but I also get motivated to push myself harder because I also hear my old ortho doc telling me I will never run again, which for those of you that know me and my family, you can’t tell a smith they can’t do something because we will prove you wrong every time, so I was going to PT 3 times a week and if I wasn’t at PT, I was at the gym or the pool pushing hard to overcome my injury and work hard to recover but then the unthinkable happened and my screws and plate popped out and it was absolute torture…..so I then began my journey with River Valley Orthopedics Dr. Owen Kelly MD and from day 1 Dr. Kelly had my back and for the first time I felt like I could trust a doctor, which is a very very big thing for me, but when I woke up from surgery #2 it was different in a big way because while I had a little bit of a burning sensation, I didn’t want to scream because the pain was so bad but I immediately felt relief and I actually cried a little bit! Within a week I was able to bear small amounts of weight and walk around a bit with assistance of course but I could move! I could feel my leg, I could feel my foot and toes, more importantly I could move them! I never in my life thought I’d be happy about having a spasm in my knee but after not feeling anything for so long and being completely numb, it was an incredible feeling! Now I can bear weight and move around a bit, I can’t go very far without needing to sit down but it is a far cry from where I was before and I can’t thank Dr. Kelly enough for helping me ♥️

I realize I’m a day early but she will see it in the morning when she gets off a 12 hour overnight shift like she’s done...

I realize I’m a day early but she will see it in the morning when she gets off a 12 hour overnight shift like she’s done for years! My mom is the most fearless,badass mom that has ever graced this earth with her presence, she is woman hear her ROAR! My mom started nursing at a young age and at times I would even get to go with her, I was even her dummy when she was teaching first aid lol! But I’ve seen my mom save countless lives and I then became passionate about healthcare, the reason for the box with the mama and baby lamb is because I made those keepsake boxes for families that had stillborn or miscarriages at the hospital and to keep the families from having to pay a ridiculous amount for one from the hospital, my mom along with a few other nurses single handedly paid to have the boxes and materials shipped to me and I made every one of those boxes and handed them back to my mom so she could deliver them to the hospital and I did all of that for them 100% for free, and I am proud of my mom because she taught me to be that kind of person, I owe who I am today to her,she owns and runs a ranch with my dad, is an awesome mommy and nanny, will out fish anyone at anytime, is fiercely protective of her family (I’ve seen it and no you don’t want that smoke!), shows kindness and empathy and is a light in the dark for many, no one could ever come close to being as epic as her! I have the best mom there is and I’m as protective of her as she is me and I owe her a lot, whether she knows it or not she is my rock and I will never not need her♥️🥹 I love you ma!
