I love stopping to take time to watch the pollinators working hard. So fascinating, so beautifulā¤ļø This is a Red Spotted Purple butterfly on the dahlia ā€œIce Teaā€ ā€¦ seems fitting it would stop for a bit of refreshment on a hot afternoon!

Flower farming is not all pretty flowers, butterflies, and sunsetsā€¦ šŸ¤Ŗits long hot days spent keeping the gardens alive when the heat index reaches 118šŸ˜³ā€¦itā€™s pest management, removing plants that donā€™t make the cut as ā€œkeepersā€, pruning, deadheading, fixing the tractor, dirt always under your nails and between your toes (yes, I garden barefootšŸ¤Ŗ)and endless watering and weeding! Mid July a sweet couple, Hannah and William, came out to the farm for engagement pictures with Capturing His Art Photography. This has been an unusually wet season and the day of their shoot was no exception! Umbrellas, running for cover, getting drenched and waiting out periods of lightening somehow made the day even more romanticšŸ„° Photographer Anna did a beautiful job!
