As you know, I rarely post my Jaye Birds face, and I don’t like mixing business and personal content; however, when you have more than one joyful tear moment, you share it. You share it with those you love and admire...all of you. Jaye was 2.5 years old the last time she attended the The Country Living Fair , and now I’m watching her as a nine-year-old observe and point out what she likes while conversing with other vendors and customers, which is a little overwhelming. I’m not sure where to begin. I knew my girl was paying attention, but wow, she is truly attentive, and she has excellent taste. My Jaye bird sees every detail. We’ve met some wonderful people this weekend. I should say “kindred spirits.” We began the morning with Bubbie buying Jaye an exceptional book about a very creative couple who built a tiny dream home on wheels! Chloe Barcelou & Brandon Batchelder and Chloe Barcelou signed her book with heartfelt and encouraging messages that I know her future self will be glad to have. After we got back to working the booth and were grateful that Cathy Williams Turner (my mom) let us go on an autograph adventure, the next thing I know, she’s saying, “Momma, Momma, the American Pickers guy that Pa (my dad) and I watch every day!!!” I replied, “Well, go talk to him, and maybe you can get a picture with him.” She demonstrated remarkable courage by speaking to Mike Wolfe after receiving a few encouraging words from me! He asked her what she collected, and she told him she had a vintage elf collection. The next thing I know my mom is inviting him for dinner when he is in Ohio. It was a special moment for her, and it’s not an exaggeration; my child watches American Pickers at least four times per week with my dad. Following the excitement of meeting Mike, Bubbie’s phone decided to take an adventure of its own, and Jaye went into full Nancy Drew mode, eventually negotiating with the security guard to help locate it. About a half hour later, after coaxing Bubbie to speak with the security guard, the phone was discovered and returned! As a reward, Jaye received Julia the Handmade Frog. She was designed and made by and Jaye chose her outfit and satchel. I don't know who is more excited about the heirloom frog. She or I. has had my heart since 2009. The first CLF I did was where I figured out so much about myself and my business. Actually I did CLF, then a month later opened my brick and mortar, and here we are full circle. This year I'm celebrating 17 years of being in business … 17 years of and 9 years of being Jaye Anne’s momma! Today was no ordinary day; it was extraordinary! Now I need to try to get some sleep before day 3. 🫶🏻, Kori
