NEW AT MOTHER-LOAD: This is an antique Victorian velvet photo album, likely from the late 19th century, featuring a green velvet cover with ornate metal corner pieces and a central embossed floral plaque. Era: Late 1800s (Victorian / Aesthetic Movement) Materials: Green velvet fabric, brass or copper alloy corner guards, and an embossed mixed-metal central plaque. Mother-Load has a vast array of purses, many diffucult to find makers. Here we have Meeker from the Arts and Crafts era. This leather purse is from the 1920s in very good condition; originally purchased in Chicago as known by a handwritten note found within. The beautiful Art Nouveau tooled design on the front is floral with scrolling embellishments. The leather is cleaned and conditioned to a rich dark brown. The inside has a deep olive leather lining which resembles velvet. There is a pocket on each side of the inside which is typical of this type of purse. The metal frame is in good condition and the dangling ornament on the front holds an amber stone; this is a turn lock jewel. The lacing is all intact and the handle, though delicate, is in fine condition. There are no scuffs, no rubbed patches as expected with its age. The purse measures 7" from top of the clasp to the base. It is 6.5" at its widest point and has a 6" handle
drop. Price $110 and can be seen at Mother-Load.

New art at Mother-Load: "Rainy Afternoon”, a limited edition serigraph by listed artist, Slava Ilyayev. Comes with a certificate of authenticity and an appraisal from 2020 for $840. This piece measures in frame, 24” H x 24” W. Priced to sell at $350..sells on Ebay for $800 previously owned. Ilyayev's art has increased in value, an excellent investment.

Mother-Load strikes again with this antique round-framed print of "Pharaoh's Horses", an iconic 1848 equestrian artwork originally painted by British artist John Frederick Herring Sr.
The piece features horses closely grouped together (two are clearly visible in this circular crop, showing their heads and alert expressions) housed in a heavy, dark round wooden frame with buckle wraps.
Prints in this distinctive circular wooden frame style were extremely popular as Victorian home decor and remained widely reproduced through
the early 20th century.
