In hour of the life and works of Edgar Allen Poe, come in and enjoy a spooky time.

On October 7, 1849, Edgar Allan Poe died in Baltimore at just 40 years old. Today, we remember a writer who helped shape Gothic literature, pioneered the modern detective story, and made fear, grief and obsessive love unforgettable.

From The Raven and Annabel Lee to The Tell-Tale Heart and The Fall of the House of Usher, his works continue to inspire readers, filmmakers and musicians around the world. The circumstances surrounding his death remain a mystery, adding one final unanswered question to his extraordinary story.

177 years later, the one and only Edgar Allan Poe still speaks to every soul that finds beauty in the darkness. See less
