Friday Feature📝: Three rooms and nine requests. Six pillows— one of my personal favorites Fortuny fabrics ‘Murillo’ to be used on the reverse for a lumbar pillow, Lisa Fine Colony Roma Alice Palmer & Co will round out the pillow requests. One Roman shade in Fermoie and a bookcase in a cozy den will be backed in a wallpaper by Carleton V Ltd. . And yes, I absolutely hit the books for inspiration and to get my points across. What you don’t see are the hours and hours behind the scenes, the hundreds and hundreds of fabrics that were viewed in person between London and the Design & Decoration Building in NYC. None of this is selected online. Not only do I have to see it but I’ve got to feel it. For me, a project such as this one further helps to illustrate the value of choosing to work with a designer or decorator. Even after all of these years, the amount of choices astound me. Whether a follower or client, I want to make people aware of what is within the realm of possibility with the proper guidance…

Friday Feature📝: On the eve of July 4th, a rather timely review of the literature and further confirmation about the importance and value of the relationship between client and designer. In this case, Christopher Spitzmiller and Harry Heissmann Inc . No matter how many times I have pored over these images, I never ever tire of them. What I see here is a very successful and sensitive collaboration that truly underscores the client-centric approach that Harry employs to great effect in his work. Up❗️Up❗️And Away❗️: Our much loved endeavor, ‘Upstairs at Swain’s’ will draw to a close this Saturday, June 27th from 10-3. We are located at 703 Watchung Avenue, Plainfield, N.J. Enclosed, please find shop snippets. And yes, if you should spy something and it is still available, we will ship if at all possible. Thank you to Ann Swain of Swain Galleries for being so open to the concept—we will miss you ! There’s a reason this framer has been in business since 1868. Come visit them ! Thank you to all those who visited us over the last year—we are so grateful ! And finally to Tracey, Tracey Colucci —pass the Kleenex as I type this. What a friend you have been over the last 27 years. Thank you for diving into this with me—at this point what haven’t we tried. And best of all, we have laughed just about every step of the way.
