I’ve been busy out in the barn this week. Finished three quilts for clients and an apron for a friend. In the meantime, my 3 year-old granddaughter informed me that the baby quilt I gave her now belongs in her baby sister’s room, and she would like a new “big” quilt for herself. In pink. I’d better get cutting!

I had a client/friend pick up her five memory quilts yesterday. They were made for her grandchildren, using her late husband’s shirts. She pieced them beautifully, and now (after a long time in my barn) she can gift them in honor of what would have been their fiftieth anniversary this July. I am honored and humbled to be a part of that project. One more client to go, and then I’m on to some things I want to do for me!

I got out yesterday and finished quilting a client quilt that had been hanging on the frame for a while. Just four more days of school!

With 19 days of school remaining, I am eager to get back out in the barn! Two client quilts to finish, weddings, and babies to celebrate! Can’t wait.

I haven’t posted much. Life and all that… new grand baby, crazy job, etc. New carpet coming soon, so I’ve been painting like a crazy person. Today, I’m thinking of my mother-in-law who taught me so many things: how to be a MIL myself, how to be a wife and mother. She is actually the one who taught me to sew; without her, I might never have discovered the love of quilting. How different my life would be! She also taught me how to hang wallpaper, so my husband’s office can look like this!

Hello, everyone! After “retiring” in May to quilt full time, I have gone back into the classroom for half days for the remainder of the year. This was a sudden and unexpected decision, so my quilting is about to get a little slower.
