I'd like to thank the Vrieze family for donating the tanker and truck to Midwest Artisans Group. Al was a member of the group, and we enjoyed seeing his creations. Al enjoyed life and was extremely handy; he loved woodworking, which became something he was very passionate about. When the Texaco Station is restored, Al's tanker will be in the front window of the station in a prominent location. Thanks to the family for leaving us a piece of history for Cresco.

Very productive day at the station! Finished repairing the rafters and then put the exterior boards on. Green treat may be overkill, but I won’t be doing it again. Next, we’ll be turning our attention to removing the tin from around the map and the columns. A little bit at a time, but this old station is going to shine again and be a proud landmark for Cresco.

One-third done. Opened up the other half and made a lumber list. Picked up the lumber, and if the weather is okay tomorrow, I'll be back up there. This old station is going to be beautiful. I see the train is getting some attention as well. It's going to be nice seeing some of the decay being cleaned up in Cresco. It's a cool town; it's time to clean up the blight and bring it back.

The new classroom officially opened on May 9th. Two Mosaic classes have already taken place. We'd like the public to suggest what classes they'd specifically like to see this summer. Midwest Artisans Group will also be offering fall and winter classes. Please include in your comments what classes you'd like to participate in and during which season. The classroom was built for community interaction, and it doesn't need to be a class to use the room. That being said, we'd love your input, Cresco. Thank you in advance.

Here’s some of the artisans things at the shop. It’s an update that has definitely been due. We’re open on Monday 9:00am to 5:00pm now. Tuesday-Friday 12:00 to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
