Here's the last cutie done for the day! A cherished friend and former colleague of mine was downsizing as she prepared to sell her home and move to North Carolina and I was the lucky recipient of this sweet little vintage cabinet. It's been sitting in the garage for a few months and it was staring at me as I was working on my projects the past week and said..."It's time". Painted in my favorite Wise Owl Paint yellow, Goldenrod...it's just perfection walking into autumn. Normally I'd be super sad that I scrapped the bottom of my favorite retired color, but thankfully Wise Owl will mix up any of their colors in gallons and package in quart cans! So I have a whole new stash on the way, in the enamel line too! If you love this color and are local...and want some for yourself, I'll have some on hand shortly! Maybe if you ended up helping me order it like crazy...just maybe they'll bring it back to the line up for me! 🤣💛🫶🏻

And I give you piece 9 of my Authors Series...inspired by a novel that caught my heart off guard this summer...Theo of Golden, by Allen Levi.

Though the other pieces in this series have been timeless classics...and this a current novel...my heart knew I had to share it. Somehow it feels like those timeless classics—the kind of story that could have been written decades ago and still feel just as relevant and tender today...and it hit my heart deeply.

Eric and I listened to the audiobook on our long car ride to and from Michigan this summer, and somehow "hearing" the story brought Theo and his world to life in a way that reading alone might not have. I truly found myself carrying the characters with me long after I had stopped listening. Even still, I'm heard Theo's voice as I worked.

Usually, when I create a piece inspired by an author, I feel like the furniture should somehow honor the author—their voice, their work, their story, but with Theo of Golden, I kept feeling like Mr. Levi made Theo the star. It almost felt as though he wasn’t trying to make himself famous through his writing. Instead, he made me feel like he want Theo to be famous. To be remembered. To be known. And I think that says something pretty beautiful about the heart of this book.

So this aged golden desk set is for Theo, and aptly named for him. 💛

For the quiet dreamers.
For the people whose stories might never make headlines, but still leave an imprint.
For the characters who somehow become real enough that you don’t want to say goodbye. And for a book that reminded me this summer that sometimes the most beautiful stories are the ones that make us look a little differently at ordinary people and ordinary lives.

Theo of Golden—you stayed with me. Now, in my own little way, I wanted to make something that would help keep Theo around a little longer. 💛📚

Desperately out of most of my workspace in the garage, so decided to try to crush out a new Authors Series piece to make some room to prepare for my next client project!!! I have to tell you, this one will be one of the hardest for me to let go...this novel has touched my heart so much and envisioning it through this project is bittersweet. I cannot wait to share it with you! 🥹🥰
