Two years ago today, I decided to start my own company. To say it has been the wildest, yet most rewarding experience would be an understatement. The projects, the people, the opportunities — I’m so incredibly thankful for it all!

Starting B. Lauren Design definitely took a leap of faith, but I founded my company on two verses: Proverbs 16:3 and Proverbs 24:3. From the very beginning, I wanted this business to be built on faith; trusting that if I committed my plans to God and used the gifts He has given me, He would guide the rest. I’m incredibly grateful for those gifts and give Him all the credit for how far my little business has come in such a short time.

The last two years have been nothing short of amazing, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for the future🤍

One of my favorite things will always be an early morning site visit to the lake. Catching the last of the sunrise, hearing the birds wake up, taking in the stillness in the midst of chaos.

No better design than Gods handiwork and I’ll never grow tired of admiring it. I can guarantee there will be plenty watched from this porch 🌅

For those of you who don’t know, this is my dad — a contractor who now runs a building supply. I grew up walking job sites, learning all about construction and just how much goes into building a home. It’s safe to say his career is what led me to mine, and the experience I’ve gained along side him has helped shaped me into the Architect I am today.

Well, I’m pretty honored to say he’s putting his contractor hat back on for my latest project — my house!!

It’s always been a dream of mine to have a place of my own on Smith Lake. Getting to design it AND getting to build it with my dad makes it that much more special.

Follow along for more updates — and to see how long it takes the contractor/dad and architect/daughter to disagree while building a house together. 🥴
