One of my favorite things will always be an early morning site visit to the lake. Catching the last of the sunrise, hearing the birds wake up, taking in the stillness in the midst of chaos.

No better design than Gods handiwork and I’ll never grow tired of admiring it. I can guarantee there will be plenty watched from this porch 🌅

For those of you who don’t know, this is my dad — a contractor who now runs a building supply. I grew up walking job sites, learning all about construction and just how much goes into building a home. It’s safe to say his career is what led me to mine, and the experience I’ve gained along side him has helped shaped me into the Architect I am today.

Well, I’m pretty honored to say he’s putting his contractor hat back on for my latest project — my house!!

It’s always been a dream of mine to have a place of my own on Smith Lake. Getting to design it AND getting to build it with my dad makes it that much more special.

Follow along for more updates — and to see how long it takes the contractor/dad and architect/daughter to disagree while building a house together. 🥴
