Firesong Studio Firesong Studio is the handweaving and fiber studio of Diane Kelly located in Cullman, Alabama.

Firesong is a handweaving studio and yarn shop located on a farm in Schellsburg, Pennsylvania. The shop has quality handwoven and hand-knitted items for body and home, unique jewelry and gift items, and a large selection of custom dyed and handspun yarns and fibers.

I started this some time ago. Sadly, it has been languishing in a bag in the corner. Then I realized it was the perfect project to do while taking a break from the book work. Easy to work on in bits, so now it's done! Hand dyed fabric and hand embroidered.

I had an amazing revelation this morning. The cloth I am weaving is the 220th warp that I have kept track of. I didn't keep records of some when I started, of any study groups or workshops (those are separate) or of any rugs or art pieces.
Since I usually weave at least 4 pieces and often 5-8, that means I have woven well over a thousand different pieces!!!

Not getting a lot done while I'm working on the book but I am winding some warps for future projects. This will be towel...

This warp took some time to get on the loom and it will take time to weave, but it is nice to be weaving some cloth. It's been a long time since I've woven fabric for clothing. And after some sampling, i'm not weaving the colors I planned. There is a subtle twill pattern that will show when finished.
