Have you ever wanted to learn embroidery but didn’t know where to start? 🌸
This is your sign. 🧵
We’re so excited to introduce our brand new Introduction to Blackwork Embroidery Workshop — a 3-hour beginner-friendly class where you’ll discover one of the most elegant and storied needlework traditions in history.
Blackwork embroidery dates back to 16th century Tudor England, where it adorned the collars, cuffs, and sleeves of royalty. It was beloved by the court of Queen Catherine of Aragon, who brought this Moorish-inspired art from Spain to England — and it became the signature style of the era. Using nothing but black silk thread on white linen, artisans created breathtakingly intricate geometric patterns that looked impossibly detailed — yet were built one simple stitch at a time. ♟️👑
That same beautiful tradition is exactly what you’ll learn in this class.
Here’s what you’ll walk away with: ✅ A completed embroidered bookmark (made by YOU!) ✅ A second kit to finish at home ✅ A printed stitch guide & pattern sheet ✅ The skills and confidence to keep going
No experience needed — if you’ve ever held a needle, you’re ready. 🙌

👩🎨 Your Instructor: Terri Michele King Terri holds a Diploma in Technical Hand Embroidery from the Royal School of Needlework — the world’s most prestigious embroidery institution, founded in 1872 and based at Hampton Court Palace in the UK. Earning this diploma requires hundreds of hours of rigorous practice across traditional techniques including silk shading, goldwork, and counted threadwork. In 2024, Terri founded her own fiber arts studio right here in Houston, Texas, and she brings that same passion, precision, and warmth to every student she teaches.
