Some pieces tell a story long before we ever touch a flower.

This amazing customer has trusted Walnut St. Flowers with not only her wedding day florals (Happy 1 year Anniversary) and, more recently, her grandmother’s funeral and celebration of life flowers. She also gave us something we never take for granted around here, complete creative freedom.

You might remember the antique typewriter we shared a couple of months ago? This same sweet English teaching woman loved sewing in her spare time, and her beautiful vintage Singer Featherweight was another piece of her story worth telling.

You might not realize just yet how much of an impact you have when you choose to support a small local business, but I promise…I notice!

Every year the books fill up, and every year I get to see more familiar faces come back to Walnut St. Flowers for their Homecoming and Prom flowers. I’ve even had the privilege of watching some of you grow up. 🥹

Thank you for letting me be a tiny part of your big night and for trusting me to add that extra pop of color, sparkle, and little bit of floral magic to your HoCo look.

I’m so dang grateful for every order, every repeat customer, every referral, and every one of you who chooses to shop small.

I hope you all made some memories, took approximately 847 pictures, and that your parents let yall sleep in this morning. 😂

If you still need to get your name on our books for Homecoming Corasges, Boutonnieres, Pocket Squares, and/or Hand Bouquets, please call 515.992.3266 and leave a message or text us with your name and phone number, date of HoCo, flower color preferences, and your dress/tie/shoe/jewelry color; we will get back to you the following Tuesday!

Over the weekend, I had the great privilege and honor of designing one of the most thoughtful and personally unique final tributes for an amazing grandmother and English teacher. This beautiful vintage typewriter was such a meaningful piece to incorporate in her celebration. I can only imagine the countless hours she spent in front of those keys, writing, teaching, and inspiring generations of students. What a special way to honor a truly special woman.
