Over the weekend, I had the great privilege and honor of designing one of the most thoughtful and personally unique final tributes for an amazing grandmother and English teacher. This beautiful vintage typewriter was such a meaningful piece to incorporate in her celebration. I can only imagine the countless hours she spent in front of those keys, writing, teaching, and inspiring generations of students. What a special way to honor a truly special woman.

What. A. Weekend! 🥏⛳️

We had an absolute blast vending at the DGPT - Discmania Challenge presented by TruBank and we cannot thank everyone enough for stopping by, shopping with us, chatting with us, and showing Walnut St. Flowers so much love! 💚

We received SO many compliments on our booth again this year, which means the world to us. We put a lot of work into creating a space that feels like Walnut St. Flowers wherever we go, so hearing that you loved it makes all those late nights and early mornings totally worth it! 😴☕️😆

HUGE shoutout to all of the vendors, staff, volunteers, spectators, and players who do this circuit! You are rockstars!

The vendor life is incredibly labor-intensive, and these events don't just magically happen behind the scenes. 👏🏼 It is NO SMALL FEAT to set up, tear down, pack everything up, haul it somewhere else, unpack, set it all back up…and then do it AGAIN. And AGAIN. And AGAIN. There are a LOT of people putting in a LOT of work to make these events happen, and we have so much respect for every single one of you!

Now… back to the flower shop!

We’ll be back in the store Tuesday, but we will remain CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC while we get everything unpacked, reorganized, restocked, and functioning efficiently again. We’ll also be working our way through calls and voicemails that came in while we were away. Basically… we're putting the flower shop back together after taking it on the road.

Thank you again for an incredible weekend and for supporting this little flower shop wherever we may be! We appreciate you more than you know. 🙏🪴

Year 5 designing the FPO trophy for DGPT - Discmania Challenge presented by TruBank and we have officially been gifted creative freedom on colors this year!

We are going to bring it back to our homeroots by primarily using Iowa grown, locally-sourced flowers. We'll also be taking inspiration from all the colorful hot air balloons painting the skies this week during the National Balloon Classic!

Next week we're packing up the flower shop and heading to Indianola for the DGPT - Discmania Challenge presented by TruBank!

That means Walnut St. Flowers storefront will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 4 - Friday, Aug. 7, but you'll find us at the tournament all week/end long!

We're doing something new at our booth this year by offering 'Make & Take' Kokedamas!

Come watch your favorite touring Disc Golf pros, then stop by and get your hands dirty with us! Instruction takes approximately 5–10 minutes, cost is $20/Kokedama. 💚

A little reminder that it's nice to be on the receiving end, celebrating 20 years of marriage definitely calls for flowers!

20 years, three incredible kids, countless memories, and a life that has been anything but ordinary. Bruce, thank you for being my biggest supporter, my steady constant, my whole world. You've stood beside me through every dream, every challenge, and every new adventure, always believing in me even when I doubted myself. The last 20 years haven't been perfect, but they've been ours, and I wouldn't trade this life we've built together for anything. Thank you for making me laugh, loving me fiercely, and showing our children every single day what commitment, kindness, and unconditional love look like. Here's to the life we've created, our family, and soo many more years.
