True!
Good Morning! Happy Sunday!
Boy! Have we gotten the rain over the past couple of days! It's mostly been a gentle rain with a few bouts of heavier downpours and no wind! They were predicting wind gusts up to 60 mph for our area, but thankfully that has not been the case.
Unfortunately, it has been the case for the western side of the state. Mt. Mitchell had gusts over 70 mph.
I know our friends in the Florida panhandle, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee have had some rough weather with flooding and tornadoes. Our thoughts are with you all.
Please let me know how you're doing.
We've been inside Frannie and poor Boomer is getting cabin fever! He desparately wants to be outside checking on HIS farm and the animals.
Hubby trudged out yesterday morning and afternoon to feed when the rain lightened up and Boomer went with him. When they got ready to come back inside, I was waiting at the door with towels to dry them off.
There is something about a towel that immediately sends Boomer into a zoomie frenzy, and trying to wrangle a 60+ pound ball of energy inside a tiny trailer.........well, you can probably guess who won that battle!
The radar looks as if we might be clearing up a bit and I want to make the rounds to check on our friends down the mountain.
I'm hoping the creeks are behaving and that everyone has been able to stay dry.
Frannie has developed a few leaks around some of the windows, so we've had to place towels under them to catch the streaks of water that run down the walls.
As soon as we dry out some, Hubby will replace the silicone around them before winter snows and ice come.
Despite this being a tropical system moving up from the south, we've still been pretty cool here in the corner of the state. We've still had lower 40's overnight and 60's during the day. Boomer has requested HIS heater in the mornings to take the chill off.
I know that this rain has brought back some fearful memories across our state. After all, it's only been 2 years since we lived through one of the worst storms in our state's history, and many, many people still do not have homes and many roads are still being repaired and bridges rebuilt.
I haven't been able to see the rain gage to know exactly how much rain we've gotten here, but it has been enough to help fill the aquifers, I'm sure.
So, let me know how y'all are doing in the comments.👇
Boomer and 'Homer' 🪱 are ready for breakfast.
We'll catch up later.
