Reflecting on this watercolor I did for a serene bedroom with a water view. Sometimes I lead with renderings like this to get a client (and myself) excited about the vision for their home. Here, I used an elevation view, with a section cut through the bay window, which helped me determine scale for all the layers in the room while I was toying with colors and textures. FYI, 💙 the vase of delphiniums was my favorite part 💙 - the whimsical punch that every rendering needs to keep it from being too stiff!

This little moment in our NY apartment has me thinking of all of our friends in New York... How much we miss them, how we hope they are safe and well, and thankful for all of the healthcare workers on the frontlines of this outbreak who are sacrificing so much of their own safety and well being. It is thanks to them that our doctors in other cities will be better prepared in knowing how to tackle the inevitable surge that may come to our towns.
Thank you, love and prayers to our friends in New York, and everyone affected by this virus.

I love the glamour of Christmastime, but nothing adds so much sparkle as spending time with those we love and cherish. Decking the halls definitely puts me in the spirit to entertain (I mean, you’ve got to get the most out of all that decorating, right??), and nothing is better than filling my home with friends and family.
