The U.S. Air Force Academy’s iconic Falcon Stadium is elevating the experience for fans on game day and beyond through a world-class transformation.

The east-side renovation, led by HKS, is redefining how fans and cadets experience game day while honoring the Academy’s rich history and preserving breathtaking western views.

Inspired by stealth aircraft, the tiered, angular design of the stadium preserves sightlines to the iconic “AIR FORCE” hillside letters, combining precision and strength with comfort and innovation.

Key highlights from Phase One:
➡️1,000-seat enclosed premium club featuring elevated hospitality in an exclusive lounge.
➡️Heritage plaza entrance that celebrates the Air Force Academy legacy and athletic excellence.
➡️Upgraded amenities like expanded concourse, modern concessions, improved restrooms and accessible features.
➡️Expanded stadium tunnel, making large-scale event production seamless for year-round programming and entertainment.

These upgrades represent the largest athletic investment in Academy history and position Falcon Stadium as a year-round destination for graduations, football, lacrosse and major events.

There’s no place like home. So, HKS designed Vivante Newport Center in Newport Beach, California, to help residents remain in their homes as they age.

Many senior living communities force a hard choice: move floors, or move out. Vivante's concrete frame structure means all 90 residences are licensed for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents, so no one has to leave their home because their health changed. On-site therapy clinics, a dedicated memory care unit and a partnership with Hoag health system mean care comes to residents rather than the other way around.

And because social connection is one of the strongest predictors of healthy aging, every inch of this community was designed to bring residents, families and grandkids together, through features like bowling lanes, an arcade, an outdoor pizza oven and a luxury spa.

Step inside the revamped player-centric facilities for University of Georgia baseball.

From the new state-of-the-art pitching lab to the redesigned weight room, nutrition space and player lounge, every detail was designed with the Dawgs in mind.

The home team locker room and meeting spaces redesign created new finishes, lockers and seating. The play of red and crisp white lighting, elements of contrast and volume of space create drama and bring layers of energy for the athletes.

These thoughtfully curated spaces encourage focus, connection and individual drive, setting the stage for greatness on and off the field.

Exciting news for HKS Singapore!

Our innovative design for A*STAR Infectious Disease Labs in Singapore has won the Lab Design’s 2026 Design Excellence Award for Excellence in Interior Design! This state-of-the-art Bio-Safety Level 2 facility is a pioneering space for advancing infectious disease research, vaccine development and pandemic preparedness.

This project features:

➡️ Enhanced lab-office zoning and distinct color-coded wayfinding for improved workflow and navigation.

➡️ Specialized areas for virus, bacteria and fungi research, as well as new fish, insect and animal procedure labs.

Sixty years of coastal glamour. Then a hurricane, a pandemic and decades of exposure to the elements.

Refreshed and reimagined to take its place as a Fort Lauderdale icon once again, the HKS-led team brought Pier Sixty-Six back to life.

The 100-year-old banyan tree still anchors the entry. The rotating restaurant still crowns the tower. But surrounding them now: a seven-story addition with sweeping balconies, cascading pool decks and a nautical-inspired porte cochere, among other modern design details.

The reinvigorated Pier Sixty-Six honors its historic roots while embracing modern innovation with contemporary flair.

A place of pioneering research and world-class patient care.

UW Health Eastpark Medical Center is forging a new path in infusion and proton therapy to treat cancer. HKS sought to address the unique sensory and emotional needs of oncology patients, while also creating space for cutting-edge research and clinical trials.

The center is the first in Wisconsin to offer multiple treatment rooms for proton therapy, which is an advanced cancer treatment that allows for more precise tumor targeting.

HKS designed this center to house the Leo Cancer Care upright proton therapy vault, which is a radiation treatment system that allows the patient to remain in a standing or seated position. This innovative upright proton therapy treatment increases patient comfort while also creating a smaller physical footprint for medical equipment.

A highway divided a neighborhood. A new park brings it back together.

Halperin Park opens tomorrow. Built over I-35E in Dallas' historic Oak Cliff neighborhood, the park reclaims land lost to highway construction in the 1950s and returns it to the community as a civic gathering space. Designed by HKS and SWA, the park features a great lawn, bandshell, pavilion, playground and more.

Shaped by input from more than 500 residents, local businesses, and nonprofits, the park opens this weekend as both a neighborhood commons that tackles social and environmental justice and a regional destination for Dallas.

Transforming trash into fashion. 👗👕

It’s time to take a closer look at the designs that are hitting the runway at our 2026 TRASHion show.

Responding to the theme of “Avant-Camp”, HKS designers used materials that are 90% reused or repurposed, including: napkins, garbage bags, cardboard, Dr Pepper cans, shower curtain, motherboards and old phones, dryer sheets, tarp, egg cartons, CD’s, chip bags, bubble wrap and Topo Chico bottle caps to create one-of-a-kind garments.

A selection of the garments will be on display at the Galleria in Dallas through May 28.

At HKS, we believe great design begins with human stories and diverse voices.

A recent design fellowship in our Detroit studio, which focused on helping stroke survivors transition from clinical care back to daily life at home, was a testament to this philosophy.

During the three-day Detroit Design Fellowship (DDF), Andrew Jaeger, a medical planner who previously worked at HKS, shared his personal experience of stroke recovery. “Andrew is a lab planning expert and dear friend of ours who experienced a life-altering stroke nearly three years ago. He understands firsthand the challenges that come with adapting to a life at home,” said Courtney Krause, HKS Project Designer. “He wanted nothing more than to be back in the office doing what he loves: teaching and sharing his wealth of knowledge with others.”

Or as Jaeger put it, “They asked me to participate and I said, ‘Hell yeah!’ I love working with students. They’re open to new ideas.”

The DDF brought together HKS design professionals and 16 fellows from six colleges and universities, including people studying architecture, interior design, urban design and medicine. This mix “led to rich, interdisciplinary conversations,” said Krause. “When we include diverse voices and center human stories and experiences in our design process, we are truly at our best.”
