Before the beautiful rooms, there’s a table that looks a little something like this. 😉

Tile. Stone. Fabric. Wallpaper. Wood. Hardware. And a whole lot of decisions!

This is one of our favorite parts of the design process. Bringing all the pieces together so our clients can see, touch, compare, and understand how their home will come to life.

Because choosing beautiful materials is one thing. Making sure they all work together is another.

We look at color, texture, scale, pattern, and how each selection relates to the next. Sometimes that means swapping a finish, adjusting a color, or finding just the right combination that makes everything click.

And while we certainly have our opinions (imagine that! 😉), we want our clients to love the selections as much as we do.

These photos are from a recent client presentation, and they're a little peek at the work that happens long before installation day.

Not everything needs to be quiet.

This primary bath has pattern, color, sculptural lighting, and pale stone, all working within a disciplined palette.

The wallpaper brings the personality. The millwork and stone bring the structure.

Bold is not the opposite of refined.

It simply needs a plan.

A closet earns its square footage when it makes the routine easier.

Hanging space, shelves, drawers, shoe storage, and a central island each have a clear job. The cabinetry keeps the room visually calm, while the contents bring the personality.

Beautiful and functional. Imagine that.

Beautiful homes are the result of great collaboration. And this one is a wonderful example of what happens when talented people bring their expertise together!

We had the pleasure of working alongside **Lisa Pearce with Traver Construction**, who was responsible for the architectural design of this beautiful home.

Lisa created the architectural foundation, and our J Wiley Designs team brought the interiors to life through the selection of finishes, furnishings, and all those details that make a house feel like home.

It's a special thing when the architecture and interiors complement one another so beautifully. Every element has its own role, but together they create something even better.

We love seeing a shared vision come together, and we're grateful to Lisa for the opportunity to collaborate on this project!

That stone sample you fell in love with? It tells part of the story.

The full slab may have more movement, different veining, or a shift in color. Wood has its own variations in grain and tone, too.

Those differences are part of what you’re choosing when you choose a natural material.

Our job is to help you understand what to expect, where variation matters, and what you should see or approve before an order is placed.

If a consistent appearance is your priority, that belongs in the conversation early. It helps us guide you toward the right material for your home.

Save this for your next renovation. A beautiful sample should start a conversation, not end one.

Upstairs, the palette quiets down without losing its point of view.

Soft blue textiles, warm wood, tailored window treatments, and layers of pattern give the primary bedroom a calm rhythm.

Look closer, and the details do the work: texture, trim, and the way each shade of blue relates to the next.

Nothing feels overly matched. Everything feels considered.

Quiet does not have to mean empty.

The breakfast room is where the tour begins to soften.

A long table, comfortable seating, built-in storage, and all that natural light make this a room designed for everyday use, not just the occasional pretty photograph.

The palette connects quietly to the kitchen, while the teal upholstery and warm brass give the room its own identity.

What We Wish You Knew... Styling is where the final relationships are resolved.

Shelves are edited. Beds are layered. Artwork is adjusted. Accessories are tested. Every surface is considered from more than one angle.

For photography, that work becomes even more precise.

We may bring multiple options, style and restyle a shelf, move an object a fraction, and spend an entire day on details that look effortless in the final image.

That is the strange thing about finishing work.

When it is done well, you notice the room more than the effort.

Magazine-ready photographs do not happen in an hour.

Neither do rooms that feel complete.

Good kitchens make room for the way people actually gather.

This view is a study in balance: generous work surfaces, seating that feels like real furniture, warm brass, quiet cabinetry, and a soft green island that gives the room its center of gravity.

Nothing is fighting for attention, but nothing feels generic either.

That is the difference between a kitchen assembled one selection at a time and a kitchen designed as a whole.

Every finish has a relationship to the next one.

And yes, the croissants help.
