Lately, I’ve been embracing the slow season.

Not fighting it.
Not rushing through it.
Not trying to “fix” it.

Just leaning in.

There’s something sacred about slower days. The quiet mornings. The earlier sunsets. The moments where life isn’t loud — it’s steady. I used to feel pressure in seasons like this… like I should be doing more, creating more, achieving more.

But this year feels different.

Instead, I’m using this time to make our house a home — not just with cozy touches and warm scents — but with systems, rhythms, and organization that bring peace instead of chaos. I’ve been simplifying. Decluttering. Creating little routines that make our days flow better. Making space for what matters.

And honestly? It feels grounding.

Psalm 23 has been guiding me in this season:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul…”

That line — *He makes me lie down* — has been sitting heavy on my heart in the best way.

Sometimes the slow season isn’t accidental. Sometimes it’s intentional. Sometimes it’s God gently leading us beside still waters because we wouldn’t choose to rest on our own.

I see His guidance in the small things lately:
• In creating order where there was overwhelm
• In choosing peace over pressure
• In building systems that serve our family
• In learning that productivity isn’t the same as purpose

He restores my soul — not in the hustle, but in the stillness.

So I’m embracing this slower rhythm. I’m organizing drawers and calendars. I’m lighting candles in the evenings. I’m building habits that make our home feel safe, calm, and anchored.

Not because everything is perfect.

But because I trust the Shepherd.

Hi, I’m Karissa — the heart and hands behind Anchor Lake Melting Co. 🤍
I’ve always loved crafting and creating cozy spaces, and somewhere along the way that love turned into candles inspired by faith, nature, and everyday comfort.

The name Anchor Lake is especially close to my heart. L.A.K.E. comes from the first initials of my four daughters — Lillie, Addy, Khloe, and Everley — who are my biggest inspirations and the reason behind so much of what I create. When life feels busy (or loud 😉), I believe our homes should feel like a place to breathe.

I’ve lived a little all over — Rhode Island, California, Washington, and now I’m settled back on the East Coast in Connecticut — and each place has shaped the cozy, grounded feel of this brand. Around here you’ll usually also find my two pups, Mazie and Max, underfoot while I’m pouring candles… and probably a seasonal coffee within arm’s reach ☕️

✨ And today is extra special — I’m so excited to share today’s drop of four brand-new fragrances, each inspired by some of my favorite scriptures. These scents were created with intention, prayer, and a whole lot of heart, and I can’t wait for you to experience them.
