Fall is for soil prep! 🪏

After getting our soil test results back from UGA Extension (stop by your local county office to get your own results), we saw a need for additional nutrients. One great advantage of having so many poultry farms in our community is close access to such a wonderful soil amendment: chicken litter! We’ll till it in along with some leaf litter to help give our plants a strong start and productive season ahead!

We picked the first fistful of flowers in more than a month, and we’re happy to see a few again!

We had big plans for fall flowers. Unfortunately, the August heat and drought shut down both our summer successions and most of our tiny fall transplants. Lord willing, we will still see some mums later this fall. While this isn’t the outcome we expected this season, we know that whatever God ordains is right and we’ll trust His goodness and wisdom over much we don’t know.

We are already preparing soil and planting for next spring and are excited to share some fun holiday plans with you soon. Stay tuned!
