I'm finally back! Chronic illness has been a bear lately but relief finally seems to be in sight and I've been itching to get back into the craft room!

My oldest needed some thank you notes for some of his fundraising for Dayton Children's Hospital and I thought I'd do a little experimenting with different colors in my distress oxide inks.

I love that there's no right or wrong way to play with these inks.....just a lot of trial and error to see which color combos were my favorites and that I wanted to repeat.

Did a little bit of crafting therapy for myself this weekend...haven't been able to do that in a while and it felt great!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner so I thought I'd replenish my stash of cards for the holiday. I'm making close to a dozen so if anyone needs a handmade card for a loved one or to go with a hostess gift, message me!

So H and I had lots of fun painting rocks this weekend for a service project that a friend recently created (Noah's Nature Rocks). I decided to step out of comfort zone and do some trees instead of flowers, that are much easier for me. Most of my trees end up looking like fuzzy pyramids...true story.

I was so excited with how they tirned out that I turned two of my plywood blanks into larger canvases for the same picture.

If anyone loves trees and mountains as much as I do, the wood paintings will be available for $7.

If anyone needs me I'll be in my basement pretending that I'm Bob Ross! 😂🤣😂🤣

So full disclosure first: I am NOT a painter. 🤷‍♀️ I am definitely trying to craft outside of my comfort zone these days. I don't really understand the logistics of acrylic paints much more than how to mix paints to create the colors I want. You've got to start somewhere, right? 🤣

I have lots of these plywood circles that are great painting canvases so there will be lots of experimenting going on around here! If you're a local, I will be sporting paint on my hands and nearly everywhere else for the foreseeable future. 😂

Let me know what you think so far...at this point there are no plans past decorating my basement if no one else likes them. 🤣😂

Upcycling can be beautiful! I have a stash of alcohol art that didn't quite make the cut but I couldn't bring myself to throw any of the pieces away....I just knew I could find a purpose for them.

I'm so happy that I did! In the process of replenishing my own card stash, I thought I'd start finding ways to incorporate those alcohol ink pieces into some simple designs.

Here's the first of hopefully many....a very simple and elegant thank you note. Who doesn't need one of those?
