This week on the blog! Just in time for the 2027 planners to show up I share why I love Mark’s Inc, a stationery line for folks who are serious about writing!

As you may know or have guessed this line originates in Japan, where so much good stationery is born. One of my favorite things about Mark’s is that they are not only serious about writing but they are serious about eco-friendly writing. Their line of reusable products are excellently made for those who are serious about writing.

MARK’S INC, is dedicated to bringing the essence of Japan’s elegance and comfort to the world. Guided by their brand philosophy of ‘Bringing Comfort with Delightful Sophistication,’ they relentlessly craft products that marry refined design with innovative functionality, each a testament to their unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of everyday life.

Make a luna moth using repurposed corks and paper!

Join us on August 1, for Art in the City in the arcadedayton North Concourse. This day is filled with so many opportunities to create and learn from all of the wonderful artists in the Miami Valley. Spend the day in this beautiful historic building complex and you will not run out of things to do.

Between 1pm-7pm we will have a table set up in front of our shop with this fun craft activity that uses an old cork, scrap paper, bits of string, and wire. It’s free and we will provide all of the supplies and instruction.

Our new window has been up for a minute but I keep forgetting to post about it! My friend, who is a friend to us all, Liz Akbay and our lovely Angie helped me create this beautiful nod to spring. We used cardboard and clippings from magazines and other collage papers. If you look close next time you are in you will find lots of gems of inspiration. Also be sure to look at the cutest birds and bees that Angie made.

Take a peek next time you are in the Huffman shop and let me know what your favorite bits are!

That’s all. Thanks for being here.

Today we celebrate the birth of our nation and while many of us, myself included, are finding it hard to find much of anything to celebrate I saw something earlier this week that encouraged me to reframe this holiday. We often equate the word patriot with a certain type of person that looks, sounds, and votes a particular way. But earlier this week I saw a post from Sharon McMahon, otherwise known as .

Sharon shared this:

“It’s time to reclaim the flag. It’s time to reclaim the word patriot. The belief that we can choose what the future inherits from us. It’s time to work toward a more perfect union, one in which all of our children can pursue their own American dream.”

And then she goes on to quote President Kennedy’s words to all Americans: “Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.”

It really got me thinking about how easy it is to fall under the myth that patriotism is not for all of us. It actually gave me a surge of energy and inspiration throughout my body that reminded me that there is so much to love about this country and that we are the ones we have been waiting for to remind us that it is a great country worth being proud of.

So today on the blog I celebrate the fact that not only do I love this country, as flawed as she may be, I also love the goods that are made in this country and on the blog I highlight a few of my favorites including our local radical bandana maker .

American made goods that speak to me are made to celebrate the innovation and spirit of this country. They honor the natural beauty and undying strength of this little seedling of a country. They speak to the history of the true patriots that believe this country was built on the foundations of truth, liberty, and justice for all! Each design and manifestation of a product is born from a strong commitment to keep these truths true for us all.

As you celebrate this country today I urge you to reach deep inside and find the peacemakers, the radicals, the innovators that are true patriots who value all humans and fought hard to make sure every single American can thrive in this great land of ours.

At Pink Moon Goods we never shy away from color and our bandana collection is where we really express our love for vibrancy!

Whether it’s a bandana from , , or one of the lovelies from that we feature at Pink Moon Good, too in the Arcade you are sure to find the perfect match that will add some color and excitement into your life.

A bandana isn’t just for looking good, although it can be a fun accessory. It can also help you with so many tasks from tying your hair back, using as a baby bib, cleaning an unexpected mess away from home, wrapping a gift or carrying a sandwich or some snacks. Personally, I like to wear mine around my neck on those cool days where a scarf is just gonna get in your way but you still need to keep your neck warm. And on summer days like today in the Midwest I soak it in ice cold water and wrap it around my neck to stay cool.

No matter what you use them for these bandanas will satisfy your desire to have a beautiful, practical thing in your life.
