Fresh Out of the Kiln: I know it’s been a while since I have posted any mimiJpottery creations. I have been busy preparing for two upcoming shows as well as an upcoming very special event. I have mentioned many times that a Potter should never fall in love with a piece until it comes out of the kiln for the very last time because so much can go wrong in the process. I have to say that I held my breath with this bowl throughout the process because I put my heart and soul into making it, cleaning it, firing it, selecting the right glazes, and then hoping that the moon and the stars lined up in my kiln. I have to say I am not disappointed. This bowl measures about 6 1/2 inches tall by 9 inches across. I used a brown clay body and layered it with various shades of blue along with a white border which I knew would run a bit and I achieved exactly what I was looking for. This bowl will be one of my items for sale at the Thompson Maker Fair on May 2 at Riverside Park in North Grosvenordale. Be sure to look for the mimiJpottery tent to see this piece as well as other several other various pieces.

I know it’s been quite some time since I posted some mimiJpottery creations. That’s because I have been putting the “pedal to the metal “ on my pottery wheel to prepare for the annual Thompson Historical Society’s Christmas Shop. Be sure to stop by every weekend from Black Friday until Christmas Eve. You won’t regret it! And here is a small sampling on mimiJpottery pieces you will see… (more to come in a future post)
