🤍 The Gift That Lasts Longer Than Fresh Flowers 🤍

Looking for something a little different? Our orchid planters are the perfect gift for birthdays, sympathy, thank-yous, housewarmings, or simply because someone deserves something beautiful.

A wonderful memory appeared today that was published in an online New Zealand Floral Magazine. Somehow, I never unearthed it in all theses years for everyone to enjoy. Since it's hyacinth and sweat pea 🫛 season it's a must to share.

Recycle and upcycle was huge at the time and companies were getting creative with packing materials. I saved a few pieces of this cardboard and used U-Glue to attach to a 6" low cylinder vase then grabbed from the top and gently pulled to the middle and U-Glued to connect and form a grid.

Once you fill with water 💧 add grape hyacinth using a lacing technique. Add lots to make it nice and lush.

Did someone say we need some quirks? Lol, well... let's make some reeds with variegated lily grass. Make a loop and tightly wrap around itseld until you have just enough left to pull through the last part of the open loop. Use your right hand, thumb and pointer, to hold onto the minimal end. With your left hand, thumb and pointer, slowly push the wrapped portion up until the open loop dissappears.

Cut ✂️ the ends before placing and bend the longer lengths to create a blown over in the wind look.

Next, place your clear cylinder on top of a really cool compote, this was a cork base from IKEA. Add water 💧 and cut hydrangea apart to gently fill the space. I used a bright Holland hydrangea for color and as a grid and support for my sweet peas 🫛.

Insert sweet peas all the way around to round out your design and soften the texture.

Then... find the perfect place to admire and enjoy.

A really extraordinary hand tie bouquet that went to a beautiful mother. Some fun flowers made their way into the spiral. A king protea might be low, but once dropped in a vase it will shine and stand out and roar like the king. Ranunculus, peonies, and lilac dance around, but no flower dances better than fritterlaria. One of my favorite foliage sits center stage, the alocacia face mask.
