Another day, another oven meets its match! 🧼✨

But these before & afters are also the perfect excuse to introduce one of the newest members of the Max Ross team—Christina!

While Christina may be newer to Max Ross, she definitely isn’t new to cleaning. She comes to us with six years of professional cleaning experience, and her attention to detail really shows. What impressed me most about this one is that she happily added the oven as an extra for her client during a regular clean. The home itself typically takes a few hours to clean, and somehow she managed to get this oven looking like this AND finish the entire clean in under four hours. That takes some serious skill! 👏

What I appreciate most about Christina is that she genuinely works from the heart. She asks about the little things that make each home and client different. What their biggest priorities are, which rooms they struggle with most, whether anyone has specific allergies or sensitivities… even what kind of treats their cats like and whether she has permission to spoil them with one. 😂 She really wants to know the people (and apparently the pets 😂) behind the homes she’s caring for, and that kind of thoughtfulness means a lot to us. 🩵

We’re so happy to have Christina on the Max Ross team, and I have a feeling you’ll be seeing a lot more of her work around here! 🧼✨

🧽🔥 HOW DO PROFESSIONAL CLEANERS GET AN OVEN LOOKING NEW AGAIN?

We’ll let you in on a few of our tricks! 👀

First, we NEVER heat an oven and then spray cleaner into a hot oven. We work on a cool oven and let the product (and patience) do the heavy lifting!

✨ A FEW TRICKS WE USE:

🫧 LET THE PRODUCT WORK. Apply your cleaner and give it time to break down that baked-on buildup. We typically give it around 30 minutes of dwell time before scrubbing. Don’t spray and immediately start fighting with it!

🔥 DON’T FORGET THE RACKS. Remove the racks and take them outside. Spray them thoroughly, then place them inside a large trash bag and close it up. This keeps the product from drying out and gives it time to break through that stubborn baked-on grease. Afterward about 30 minutes scrub, scrub them with 0000 steel wool and rinse the racks thoroughly before putting them back.

🔪 THE 45° TRICK. Along with 0000 steel wool and on appropriate surfaces, stubborn buildup can be carefully lifted with a razor scraper held at about a 45° angle on a WET surface. Never scrape dry and use light pressure. Always check your oven manufacturer’s instructions first because some glass and enamel finishes can scratch.

⏰ PATIENCE! Years of baked-on grease usually won’t disappear in five minutes. Sometimes it takes several rounds of product, dwell time, gentle scraping, scrubbing and wiping.

🪟 VENTILATION MATTERS. Always clean your oven in a well-ventilated area. Open those windows and get fresh air circulating! Even cleaners advertised as “odorless” are still chemicals you don’t want to sit there breathing in while you work.

✨ OUR BIGGEST TRICK? THE FINAL RINSE.

A freshly cleaned oven can look AMAZING while it’s wet…and then dry with an ugly white, chalky haze. 😩 That’s often leftover cleaning-product residue.

We finish with fresh water and clean microfiber cloths, making multiple passes and changing our water and cloths as needed until all of that residue is gone. This final step makes ALL the difference in getting that beautiful finished look. 🙌

🚨 AND KNOW YOUR OVEN!
Have one of those beautiful blue enamel interiors, like those found in some LG ovens? Don’t automatically reach for traditional oven cleaner. These specialty enamel finishes can have very specific cleaning requirements, and the wrong chemical or abrasive can damage the finish. Always check your specific oven’s manual first.
