Looking for living room design ideas? Start here.

We’ve designed a lot of living rooms over the years, and no two have looked exactly alike, because no two homes (or the people living in them) are exactly alike.

The layout, scale, materials, lighting, color — all of it should reflect who is using the space.

Because a great living room isn’t just about making it look good. It’s about creating a space that works well, feels inviting, and makes you want to actually spend time there.

Save this one for your next living room project. 📌

Sometimes the best design details are right above your head.

We love using lighting as an opportunity to bring in an unexpected shape, a little contrast, or something that makes a room more interesting.

Of course, a light fixture needs to actually light the room. But if it’s going to hang right in the middle of the space, we think it should bring something to the design, too.

Here are a few of our favorites from projects over the years. Which one are you picking? 💡

A brand-new home gives you a beautiful blank slate. The fun part is making it actually feel like the person who lives there.

For this home office, we started with a neutral foundation and layered in artwork, books, collections, and meaningful objects that reflect our client—making those pieces part of the design rather than an afterthought.

We also thought about how he’d actually use the room. A comfortable place to sit was a must, which sent us on the hunt for the elusive good-looking recliner. (Harder to find than you might think 😂)

The result is an office that feels polished and pulled together, but still distinctly his—with a very comfortable spot for the occasional sneaky afternoon nap. 😴

A little behind-the-scenes look at how we’re working through one of our mountain projects.

We’re building out a 3D model of this new home so our team can study the spaces from every angle before anything is built.

Scale, proportions, sightlines, how one room relates to the next—these are all things that can look perfectly fine on a floor plan and feel completely different once you see them in 3D.

We don’t model every project this way, but for the right home, it gives us another opportunity to catch things, test ideas, and make better decisions before they become expensive decisions in the field.

Because changing something on a screen is a whole lot easier than changing it after framing. 😉

“I’m so glad I trusted your vision!”

Pretty much the best thing a client can tell us at the end of an install.

We first worked with this family on some of the bigger spaces in their home, including their baby girl’s nursery. Once those rooms were complete, they brought us back to help finish the spaces in between.

This time around, we tackled their entry, hallways, guest rooms and bathrooms—bringing in the same color, personality and thoughtful details that made their other spaces feel like them.

Because it’s usually those finishing layers that take a home from mostly done to actually feeling complete.

And hearing that they trusted us to push the vision a little? That’s the good stuff.

Sometimes the best design decisions come down to simply paying attention to the people who will use the space.

This shower now sits where an old built-in tub used to be, but we didn’t stop at the existing footprint. With a client well over six feet tall, we extended the shower farther into the room and used a glass corner to give him the extra space without making the bathroom feel closed in.

Two showerheads make the oversized shower work comfortably for both homeowners, while privacy windows bring in plenty of natural light.

Light stone tile keeps everything bright against the dark floors, and the simple material palette lets the scale of the shower do the talking.

A little more room, a lot more function—and a bathroom designed around the people actually living in it.

The secret to a good before + after isn’t always a dramatic renovation.

We didn’t move walls or completely reinvent this living room. Instead, we focused on the changes that would make the biggest impact: simplifying the fireplace, adding a custom built-in, improving the furniture layout, and layering in warmth and texture.

The original fireplace surround felt heavy and dated, so we replaced it with a simpler stone surround and mantel that let the fireplace become a quieter, more timeless focal point.

Adjacent to the fireplace, a custom built-in added warmth and architectural interest. The darker wood helps the TV recede instead of demanding attention, while tongue-and-groove paneling adds subtle texture and depth.

Then came the furnishings—creating a layout that works better for everyday life and adding the layers that make the room feel finished.

The bones were already there. We just needed to make better use of them.

Sometimes the best transformation isn’t about doing more. It’s about knowing exactly where to make a change.

Small room. No reason to play it safe.

Powder baths are one of our favorite places to take a bigger design risk. Because they're tucked away and used in small doses, you can turn up the color, pattern and personality without asking the rest of the house to compete.

For this remodel, our client wanted depth, texture and plenty of personality—and she’d always loved pops of red. So we leaned into it with a bold wallpaper that immediately became the star of the room.

A dark wood vanity grounds all that pattern, while layered brass and more traditional details bring in warmth and keep the space feeling collected.

Bold, but not busy. Playful, but not trendy. And very much a reflection of the person who lives here.

Here’s a little bedroom design inspo for your saved folder!

A bedroom can be so much more than a bed, two nightstands, and a lamp.

It’s one of the most personal spaces in your home, which is exactly why the bedrooms we design rarely look alike.

Some are colorful. Some are quiet. Some lean heavily into pattern, while others are all about texture and layers.

But they all have one thing in common: every decision was made with the people who actually live there in mind.

Because a beautiful bedroom is great. A beautiful bedroom that feels like you is even better.

Save this one for the next time you’re ready to give your bedroom a little more personality.

Renovating your home can feel like a full-time job.

There are hundreds of decisions that need to happen before you get to the fun part of living in the space.

Where should that outlet go? Do you need more storage here? Which material will actually hold up? Does this layout make sense for how you live?

We're here to help answer those questions (and sometimes take them off your plate entirely).

Most importantly, we're here to be your trusted partner throughout the process so you can make confident decisions without carrying every detail yourself.
