On Sunday afternoons, I’m often curled up on the sofa, flipping through design books and the latest interior magazines. I’ve always loved the tactile rhythm of turning real pages, the way imagery and storytelling linger and leave a lasting impression. A lesson in how good planning and a keen eye for opportunity can add an extra design layer everyone’s searching for.

Asymmetrical and sculptural, the oversized wall sconce anchors the entertaining area while giving space to the thick marble countertops and lacquered cabinetry. These bold, hard finishes are then softened by the movement of natural veining, salmon painted walls, and woven window shades that filter light.

One of my favorites from Milan Design Week was this personal apartment, full of antique textiles, craftsmanship, and warmth.

This room in particular brought a jolt of the unexpected. Dramatic lighting added contrast to what could have read as a soft, feminine scheme, while the metallic artwork felt rather rock ‘n’ roll when layered among timeworn textures.

Every now and then, I stumble across photos of this incredibly charming château I stayed in for a dear friend’s wedding in the South of France.

The family-style kitchen, dramatically wrapped in red marble, was where we gathered each morning to sip coffee and laugh about shenanigans from the night before. Every corner of the estate was layered with pattern, authentic materials, and creamy magnolia paint. Timeless, tactile, and unforgettable.
