Today we wanted to share a current project of Christa’s: her Kettle Circle whole-home renovation.

Christa adores this project and her client, and we are continuing to push things forward for her while she is away. You can really see Christa’s talent shining through the progress. It’s going to be a stunning finished design 🧡

Christa loves and believes in design, and she is crazy about her work and what it means to her. She is showing incredible progress in recent days, but the road ahead is long and filled with new challenges for Christa and her family. Going through old pictures and reflecting on what magic it is to be a team together.

Work is one thing, an office is one thing, a job is one thing…TVL is another. It’s intense, consuming, and sometimes exhausting. It’s also exhilarating, rewarding, and part of something bigger. Together, we have all been through the hard s**t the last number of years; some really amazing ups and some really tragic downs, but we always come back to center grateful that we are doing it together.

I reflect on every trade event, industry award show, business partner and collaboration…and I feel deeply touched and humbled at the friendships we have made. The difference we have sparked and the dialogue we have been fortunate to be apart of.

Christa is so universally loved in this industry. The support from this community has been extraordinary, and we cannot give enough thanks to our industry friends who have contributed and shared. It is so beautiful that we can all come together and agree wholeheartedly that Christa is worth fighting for. Big time.

With a looming jaw surgery tomorrow, our thoughts are with Sam and Christa and their families. Such a long road to go, so much support still needed. Please continue to rally and contribute however possible.

She’s such a fighter.

We are making a commitment here at TVL to post something about Christa every day until she’s out of this chaos. Something fun, something simple, something vulnerable and honest, every day, until she can read them and enjoy them in health and stability. We are taking over our media to devote every ounce of intention, focus, and discussion to her; she deserves it and it is our biggest priority as individuals and as a business at this time.

The response to the GoFundMe has been beautiful and overhwleming. The sense of community is lifting and powerful. There is so much evidence of deeply rooted love, respect, and celebration of Christa. Please continue to share and to donate. The goal has been raised to better reflect what is anticipated in cost at the end of the very long road.

We love you and appreciate you all, thank you for the continued support. Please keep fighting, sharing, praying, loving and collaborating in her absence.

If ever there was a need for help, it is now.

I have spent all day thinking about how to compose this post; not because there is nothing to say, but rather there is so much that it is hard to condense here into one Instagram moment.

Our incredible Christa is in a very critical state and desperately needs support. Last Saturday, she sustained traumatic injuries from a fall that lead to a blood clot and severe ischemic stroke. She is currently fighting the hard fight: there is confirmed damage to the right side of her brain and she is currently experiencing paralysis and weakness on the left side of her body. The journey ahead will be long and challenging. We have set up a GoFundMe page in her honor to raise funds for her medical care now and beyond. Christa is a TVL employee, yes. But this is a baseline description of who and what she is to this company and to this industry. Christa is a deeply talented designer, an amazing collaborator, and a true Visionary. She is wildly optimistic, beaming with positivity, and radiating with kindness. She is a strong woman with a fierce devotion to her passions and a loyalty that cannot be outdone. We are fortunate and grateful to have her as a part of our team. Beyond that, though, she is our family. The bond we share in this business is incredible and unusual; we are a chosen family, a tight-knit village, an unstoppable collective force. We miss our Sunshine every day and we cannot wait to be with her in creative space again.

The TVL team will do everything possible and necessary to support Christa in her healing journey. We are fiercely dedicated to lifting her family, her wonderful husband Sam, and her inner circles. We are asking everyone in our community to help share this story and donate if possible; it’s time to give back to a human who has been giving to others selflessly her entire life. We are honored to fight for Christa and will not stop doing so until she is safely on two feet.
