Ripping is the heart of our operation at Schacht. With thousands of board feet of lumber moving through the ripping process each week, it truly serves as the starting point and backbone of production.

The accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of this department have a direct impact on nearly every step that follows. When ripping is running well, material flows smoothly, downstream departments stay productive, and we are better positioned to maintain both quality and schedule.

The work being done here sets the tone for the entire production process, making it one of the most critical functions in our operation.

Here’s a look at an arched door we assembled for one of our projects. Multiple wood pieces are glued together to form the final shape. This process allows us to achieve the curve with strength and stability.

While normally we would match the wood color more closely, this particular door will be painted, so visual consistency in the raw material is less critical.
