A powder room may be small, but its personality certainly doesn’t have to be.
The star of the show is this beautifully bespoke vanity, carved entirely from a gorgeous slab of richly veined Cristallo Rosa quartzite. We kept the lines clean and let the stone do the talking, then added warm brass, a simple mirror, and those fabulous fluted sconces.
It’s classic, sophisticated, and just a little bit naughty. A powder room that makes a quick pit stop feel like a destination.
No judgment if you linger. We won’t tell.

We had the absolute joy of celebrating our incredibly talented Senior Designer, Courtney, on her wedding day, and honestly, we couldn’t be more thrilled for her.
She is beyond loved, endlessly talented, wonderfully kind, and one of those truly special people who makes everything around her a little better. Watching someone so special begin this next chapter was a privilege, and celebrating her was the easiest thing in the world.
Courtney, we love you dearly. We’re lucky to have you, and even luckier to celebrate you. Here’s to love, laughter, and a lifetime of beautiful chapters (and rooms) ahead!!

There’s something we’ve been keeping to ourselves.
A little secret. A very good one.
For now, we’ll leave you with a few clues: a Peruvian textile, late 19th-century china, and a collection of wonderfully brutalist mid-century glasses. Three very different pieces, somehow telling the same story.
We’re not quite ready to spill the rest.
But soon.
And we have a feeling you’re going to want to see this one.

Creativity doesn’t arrive on a schedule. It shows up when it wants to. Sometimes it’s a gallery in New York City. Sometimes it’s the way light bends across a wall, a reflection that softens reality, or a color combination that lingers in your mind long after you’ve walked away.
Design isn’t about recreating what we’ve already seen. It’s about collecting moments, impressions, and ideas that eventually become something entirely new.
The spaces we create are shaped as much by these quiet moments of inspiration as they are by floor plans and fabric samples. Every project begins by seeing the world a little differently, then evolves into something deeply personal for the people who will call it home.
I didn’t know it at the time, but this moment at Salon 94+ would become the inspiration for one of our newest projects. The palette, the atmosphere, and the creative direction all began here, opening the door to a fresh new project for RMI.

While most conference rooms are powered by spreadsheets and stale coffee, ours prefers vintage brass, grasscloth, blush velvet, and cocktails at the ready. A 1940s inlaid bar cart keeps the spirits close at hand, lit by a vintage Hart & Associates monkey lamp that quietly supervises every meeting. We like to think he’s in charge of quality control.
The photograph above the cart offers a glimpse into another RMI project, a reminder that every space has a story to tell. Wrapped in grasscloth walls, softened by floor-to-ceiling drapery, and framed by blush velvet chairs, this little corner proves that creativity thrives in spaces that feel collected rather than corporate.
We can’t promise every meeting ends with a martini, but we do think good design, good conversation, and a well-stocked bar cart have a remarkable way of solving a lot of problems.
Business, but with a little more character. And maybe a splash of gin.

Designed with our young adult daughters in mind, this room leans into a little Art Deco glamour with a playful twist. The graphic wallcovering wraps the space in soft geometry, creating just enough rhythm without overwhelming the room. It’s balanced by filmy linen drapery that filters the Colorado light, adding an easy softness to the structured pattern of the wallcovering.
The bedside lamps are a favorite. Unexpected and sculptural, they bring personality to the room while proving that lighting can be as much art as function.
Layers of velvet, linen, and pattern keep the room feeling sophisticated without taking itself too seriously. It’s a room designed for visits home and, just as easily, for welcoming guests.

Breakfast rooms should feel optimistic.
This one greets the morning with a little drama. A sculptural chandelier floats overhead like a cloud of illuminated reeds, bringing just enough presence to transform a simple breakfast nook into a destination of its own.
Floor-to-ceiling drapery softens the architecture, with a subtle ombré detail that grounds the room and draws the eye upward. The effect is tailored but relaxed, polished without feeling precious.
Layered beneath, a vibrant rug introduces movement and color, while the intimate oval table keeps conversation close and coffee within reach.
A reminder that NOT every meal needs to happen at the kitchen island.

One of the unexpected gifts of this business is the people it brings into your life.
I am thrilled and honored to be mentioned in the latest issue of Frederick magazine by Dara Caponigro, the incredible woman at the helm of the team at Schumacher, a powerhouse company known for iconic fabrics and wallcoverings. What makes the recognition especially meaningful is that Dara remembered a story I shared with her one NYC evening back in November and chose to include it in her editors letter. In an industry filled with beautiful rooms, remarkable products, and endless inspiration, it’s the fact that someone remembers your story that stays with you.
Design is often viewed through the lens of finished projects, but the truth is that this business is built on relationships. Trust between clients and designers. Partnerships with makers, artisans, and vendors. Conversations that turn into friendships. Creative collaborations that span years and sometimes decades.
The rooms are the outcome. The relationships are the foundation.

A creative office should feel a little like the person who occupies it.
For our director of interior architecture, that meant wrapping the room in grasscloth and drawing the eye upward to a deep jade ceiling that turns an otherwise ordinary workspace into something far more atmospheric. The contrast creates just enough mood for big ideas and long design sessions.
Vintage chairs, reupholstered in a wonderfully whimsical bird and monkey fabric, bring a sense of humor to the room. Because even the most serious design work benefits from a little mischief.
The artwork is equally personal. A collection of architectural sketches and drawings serves as a constant source of inspiration, while an expressive oil painting by local Denver artist Mattie Berglund adds color, character, and a reminder that creativity rarely follows a straight line.
Creative by nature, methodical in ex*****on, and known for an almost surgical attention to detail, she approaches every project with equal parts imagination and precision.
Part office, part library, part creative laboratory.
