We had a wonderful time at Shupp’s Grove this weekend for the annual Shupp’s Grove Fiber Festival. On Sunday, we brought Poppy to be sheared for a public demonstration. Her sister, Iris, tagged along for moral support.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and this New Year brings you joy. And lots of fiber creating!

It’s been busy around here! I (Dani Snyder) competed on an angora 🐇 palooza team (Hare’s to Ewe) where we took angora rabbit fur, spun it and wove a scarf within 3 hours. We finished 2nd out of 4 teams. It was an amazing experience! Later in the week I went as cheerleader and shepherdess for my sheep to shawl team, Mutton But Trouble. We placed 4th out of 10 teams…so proud of my team for their hard work! We used Iris’ fleece and she won best fleece. 😱 It was an absolutely incredible experience. Both competitions were at the Harrisburg PA Farmshow.

This is the 2nd time in 4 months one of my sheep have won best fleece. It has been an incredibly encouraging experience and has helped boost confidence that my hard work is paying off more than I realize. It has also given me the confidence to advertise my fleeces, so in the coming year I plan to post fleeces for sale. Stay tuned!

It’s been an exciting year for Fiber4Ewe! There is still hand dyed yarn available for any last minute Christmas shoppers (or treat yourself!). This is super wash merino yarn…very soft and can be worn next to skin. PM if interested!

I will be at the Isaac Meier Homestead this Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm for their Christmas at the Homestead. This is the perfect time to do some last minute Christmas shopping and see what you (or your loved one) can create with some Fiber4Ewe yarn!

I will also have photos of our sheep to purchase, dyed Leicester Longwool locks and adorable teacup pincushions for the sewer in your life!

There are fi*****ng, DK and worsted weights available, and all yarn is $20 per skein. I can meet locally or ship (shipping fees apply). In the coming weeks I will have small batches of hand dyed Leicester Longwool locks. They will be 1 oz bundles at $5 per bundle. Current locks are being dyed from Gabriel’s fleece (pictured).
